A very wet walk this morning but it has not bothered a really switched on intelligent dog like our Doddie. This is his “who me” look.

I have no idea what is going on behind those eyes. Perhaps I am overthinking it and it’s simply an ex racing greyhound 1000 yard stare

Ever since Doddie came to live with us people ask how the dogs get on with each other. It’s easier to just post this picture than explain

We have had 5 greyhounds and each was given a new name. The latest was called Noduff Tropicana so he needed an easier name for round the house. We got him a collar to remind us what name to use. The fact that it was also the name of an inspirational Scottish Rugby giant is just a bonus.

Please sir I want some more! Doddie’s perpetual cry. He is not starved, honestly, but he has not been out of racing kennels long enough yet to understand there is no need to eat every bit of food in the house.

Bit of a special day in Abbi’s house today. We got a boy to foster for a couple of weeks. Coby is the same age as her and we want to see how she gets on with him. He is a lovely natured big boy. Fingers crossed the visit works out OK

What has happened to Kuntie Plopkins account. Looks like it has been deactivated. That’s a pity. I agreed with her and disagreed in equal measure. Has she been driven out or just moved to another site?

I have now become the official reviewer on behalf of Abbi. The suppliers of her treats asked for a customer review and I have not a clue how they taste but I managed to gather enough info from the way she looks longingly at them to submit a positive review.

We are back home from the greyhound festival in Kent and Abbi picked up some prizes in the fun dog show there. It was not crufts and all the judges were unashamedly fans of greyhounds but we had a lovely time and met so many nice people. Well done Abbi

I am sorry to say that the big guy Brodie has gone over the rainbow bridge. He had a short but brutal illness that the vet hospital could only say was something auto immune and although they fought very hard to control it eventually it overwhelmed his system and we had to ask the vet to end it.

There is a debate at the moment in the UK about banning X because of AI fake pictures. I don’t think there is a need to ban it. Just encourage people to close their accounts. I have tried to persuade my wife to do this but she is scared she loses contact with lots of friends still on X

Abbi got to visit a little beach today. Everything is so exciting at the moment. Brodie has seen it all before

We have been preparing the caravan for our holiday. Brodie is on guard and Abbi almost stayed awake

Brodie did his 28th blood donation today and Abbi did her first.

This was the last time Brodie and Abbi met Grandma Biscuits. She suffered a gastric bleed the following day and could not be saved. Brodie in particular lived for his visits to her (nothing to do with the biscuits she fed him) and he clearly misses them. How do you explain death to a dog?💔
