its insane how not many people are talking about how republicans with the help of several moderate democrats are building out the largest abusive medical conversion therapy operation in modern american history
It’s one thing to get brain tumor surgery—I feel a little concussed, but it’s quite another to lose twenty percent of your blood to a bad nosebleed afterward, and it’s a slap on the face to get a sinus infection four weeks out. I’m happy grimace is gone but geez. Let’s finish healing.
I guess I’m a simple person, but it feels like everything is falling apart because several hundred people are stealing all of the money. We could change this.
Transphobes in the US are getting a lot of attention right now for their attempts at lawmaking, but virulently funded transphobes in the UK are making great strides at killing us trans folk via withholding healthcare. It’s a carnage that deserves more attention. Heinous.
Strife increases when the wealthiest hoard cash and power. And if history is any guide, the wealthiest top does not give up their power or money on their own.
I’m hoping the US midterms occur without violence during or after the vote.
In 1992, a group of three female students at Syracuse University said they’d been drugged and gang raped at a fraternity party. A few days later they recanted. Feminists on campus went into action. I was one of them. I’m looking for a place to publish this story. DM me if you know good markets.
Important appointment tomorrow with an endocrinologist. My hope is that this will help us determine if surgery or a dopamine agonist is the treatment plan ahead. Another hope: that we begin treatment soon, because I don’t feel great. #macroadenoma
So maybe I mapped, conceived of a world, defined a new magic system, and wrote up a dungeon system in two days so my kids and friends could play a D&D campaign next week. It was just as fun as I remember.
I was just informed by a cis person that trans people don’t have the luxury of looking into the root causes or intersections of transphobia.
If you think trans folx can’t see the misogyny in transphobia, you’re not paying attention.
Another day, another waiting game to get an endocrinologist appointment so we can identify the mass on my pituitary. My MRI results came back on July 24 at 3.2 cm. American health care is not working.
I’m still waiting to see a specialist after two MRIs revealed a mass on my pituitary. I think I’m on referral number 5. Left eye is starting to blur and I’m losing my peripheral vision. US healthcare should not operate this way.
Sovereign governments are in place to protect the people they serve and to improve the standard of living by collecting resources of the people for their lives. Smothering proper research goes against the fundamentals of governance. I expected more from Canada.
This is appalling. Where were the advisory group members in all this? Did any of them speak out? Resign?
(Here’s how to do that)

SCOOP
It took nearly two years, but I finally obtained 650 pages of internal correspondence detailing the steps Health Canada took to disappear the Expert Advisory Group reports on medicalized safe supply and compassion clubs.

I was the first trans person to run for office in Washington State, back in 2018. I lost my race, but never stopped dedicating myself to working for my community. To see how well Jaelynn Scott is doing in her race warms my heart. She’s talented, smart, and a hard worker!
I got some rough news last week that I have a 3cm macroadenoma on my pituitary gland. At least I have an explanation for my dizziness, headaches, neuropathy, &fatigue. But there’s a busy nonprofit to manage, a community to serve, and a family to love…so I’ll work my medical process to get thru this.
I think Norway has a wonderful approach to sports. I still remember rooting for the Norwegian men’s curling team pants a few Olympics ago. What a way to put fun and sportsmanship as priorities.
“By early 2026 this had completely flipped to where the voices of opponents of trans rights were featured more than the voices of trans people.”

I went to the WW Penitentiary Thursday, to support their third annual Pride festival.
I met 4 trans women who were working through preserving identity in the confines of corrections. I talked to veterans, people who been inside for decades.
It was gratifying to see all the places Pride can foster.
The tech bros gave us crypto currency that isn’t currency, artificial intelligence that isn’t intelligence, and prediction markets that are inside-trader scams.
On the other hand, they have given us gigantic data centers that employ no one and destroy communities. So there’s that.
When we took office, NYC had a $12B deficit. Today it’s zero.
And we didn’t close that gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets, & public housing.
Call it Pothole Politics or Democratic Socialism: We are government that delivers for the people.
Autism is a “social contagion.”
Trans people are “domestic terrorists.”
Black people are gerrymandered out of power.
Immigrants are deported…anywhere.
Citizens are denaturalized.
So much to say here, but I’ll just note:
It’s impossible to keep this much hate going indefinitely.
It’s deeply sad to me that I am inundated with fake publishers asking for the rights to my work.
I love my stories and worked hard on them. I’ve got more manuscripts I haven’t finished at home. Someday I’ll turn back to writing.
But this conman crap is dispiriting.

DON'T do two years of research to figure out this puzzler

I’ve wrangled $3.45M in financing toward a building renovation that will give the org I manage a permanent home for our low barrier clinic, behavioral health case management and counseling programs, and central office, in a rural area. But state cuts put my plans in jeopardy. What a chaotic time.
