Hi friends! We should introduce ourselves... We crowdfund for underfunded Dem nominees for MO state leg – who run in some of the reddest parts of MO. We've been at this since 2017, supporting Dems in every corner of the state. If you believe Dems should fight everywhere, we should be friends. 💙

Meet Blue MO-supported candidate Gena Puckett, running for HD 9. Gena grew up in Gallatin, studied math education at Missouri Western, and spent 31 years teaching, retiring from Platte County R-III, where she’s in the Hall of Fame for her work in math education and student government.

She’s running to fully fund public schools, protect rural hospitals, support local libraries, and make sure farmers and working families get heard over the wealthy and well-connected. She’s endorsed by the Missouri AFL-CIO, the Missouri-Kansas Laborers’ District Council, and Missouri NOW.

After retiring, she came home to her rural roots in Stewartsville. She’s watched Jefferson City underfund public schools, overturn what voters passed on puppy mills and Clean Missouri, and put donors ahead of the families of northwest Missouri. Enough was enough.

Each week we share a "moment of joy" with our members – so they can appreciate the kind of work they've made possible. Here’s just a glimpse of what our incredible Blue Missouri candidates are doing in their communities, as they build real grassroots momentum.

Please meet another Blue Missouri supported candidate – Judy McNeece, running for Missouri Senate District 12! Judy grew up the second youngest of eight in a working-class family where money was tight, and her dad taught her to work hard and go after what she wanted. She did.

And when she talks to her neighbors, she hears the same three worries: healthcare, public schools, and the cost of living. Jefferson City isn’t listening to any of them. So Judy is running as a grandmother on a fixed income who thinks ordinary Missourians deserve a senator who works for them.

While raising three kids, she worked her way up in banking from teller to vice president, and she’ll tell you the best part of the job was helping other people’s dreams come true. Now she’s retired to the rolling hills of North Central Missouri, where she gardens and spends time with her grandkids.

And he wants Jefferson City to stop looking for ways around what Missouri voters decide at the ballot box. He's running in a red part of Missouri – a place where candidates like him often struggle to get resources they need to make progress and get their message out. That's where Blue MO comes in.

“I’ve spent 13 years working nights at a Joplin hospital. I’ve watched my neighbors choose between a prescription and a grocery bill — and I’ve watched our state government argue about everything except that. District 161 deserves a representative who shows up and works for everyone.”

He’s running because the people he loves, from his family to his coworkers to his neighbors, are working harder than ever and getting less for it. He wants to protect Medicaid, keep regional hospitals open and staffed, and make real progress on childcare, housing, and wages.

But she’s had to choose between paying a bill, buying medication, and putting food on the table. That’s part of why she’s running. “Regardless of political affiliation, we all know right from wrong. We must have the courage to ... do what is right by choosing PEOPLE OVER POLITICS.”

Meet another Blue Missouri supported candidate – Corey Luebbering, running for Missouri House District 3. Corey grew up in St. Thomas, next door to his grandparents’ cattle farm, doing chores as soon as he was old enough to carry a bucket. He came to Kirksville for college in 2007 and never left.

All those jobs taught him that everyone he meets has their own story and their own reasons for believing what they believe. He’s running to care for rural hospitals, fight for public schools, keep data centers from tearing up Northern Missouri, and bring some community spirit back to Jefferson City

Today he manages research at A.T. Still University and holds a master’s in public health. Before that, he worked on a relative’s dairy farm, flipped burgers, fixed small engines, ran gas station registers, maintained rental apartments, conducted phone surveys, and handled hospital admissions.

He spent ten years in Kansas City as a corporate accountant and then a software engineer before coming home to West County to run a family business with his dad. Along the way he’s volunteered with the blind, mentored kids, and helped unhoused Missourians get meals and healthcare.

Each of those jobs taught him something he wants to bring to Jefferson City, from how to balance a budget to what small businesses and working families need from their government. “Missourians give their best every day,” he says. “It’s time they get the same back from their representatives.”
