do you guys have any examples of vertical/scroll comics that take advantage of their format to do stuff you couldn't do in horizontal comics? i once wrote an essay about Bongcheon-Dong Ghost and Em Carroll's work but that was well over a decade ago and there MUST have been more examples since then

Bongcheon-Dong Ghost also isn't even necessarily good because of it's vertical format, i think you could probably get the same jumpscare effect in a horizontal comic, that's more an example of doing something you couldnt do on paper 🤔

i have Thoughts about how vertical scroll and instagram post formatting have impacted interesting panel layout but im willing and hoping to be wrong!!

addicted to printing out papers relevant to my research

going to be dramatic at 9am on a monday morning - i think all these terribly-organised, over-crowded, largescale "comic cons" that leave visitors with a terrible taste in their mouths will have a lot of folk writing off comic events entirely and it actively harms small press and independent creators

idk man. i think it's rancid.

stick the events on but call them Guest Conventions or Pop Culture Cons and leave comics (which rarely feature) out of it

Had this idea in lockdown, half-built it, forgot about it, remembered it again, though might as well finish it.

is there a way to prevent windows assuming that any old fucking popup takes priority on my screen. it has happened WAY too many times that im in the middle of typing something and an alert for a different programme appears and assumes me hitting the space bar is accepting whatever the popup is about

IM BUSY!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT YOUR TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

while the buildings could benefit from repairs (& another ♿ entrance imo), the current plans look gutting, & would demolish, not restore, many weird cool historic parts, with hotel/student flats DOMINATING & replacing loads of venues and resident spaces from summerhall arts:

broke the 50k word milestone for conlang book lads

this was meant to be a blogpost

sorry, typo, it's worse - the 60k milestone.

i've really been enjoying seeing people saying that they shouldn't have changed the title from "incidents around the house" to "other mommy", because "other mommy" is a terrible title. regretfully informing you all that "incidents around the house" was also a terrible title. sideways movement

the best thing about other mommy was that the most beautiful woman alive, dichen lachman, was in it. the second best thing was that she wasn't in it for very long. dichen get out of there

still working on draft 3 of conlang book, just requested the national library buy a whole other book on a whole other topic for me to round out some arguments.... im sisyphus except im giggling and clicking my heels and making out with the boulder

did you not that not only can you just sign up to the national library of scotland and get access to all their crazy old books and collections for free, but you can also ask them to buy expensive research books for you and they'll do it?? for free?? did you know the library is fucking free????

oh i got to the part of the draft rewrite where 6 whole pages are labelled "REWRITE THIS". why is this boulder so heavy all of a sudden
