If you choose to silence a campaign put forth by that organisation you would want to have better reasons for it than angry online commentary.
Every government representative who has come against this campaign should be asked what evidence they are bringing to the table.
Astounded at the way the permanently-offended have responded to this.
It's 100% normal to ask anyone, esp. a child "dye want a hug?" before hugging them. No matter what age the adult is or their relationship to the child.
The forced hugging/kissing in the ad happens in our society and is wrong.1/5
Adverts run by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre looking at consensual hugs between children and their grandparents has been suspended after criticism.
Aontú's Peader Tóibín called the ad "bonkers", as he urged a "need to build resilience" among children.

The @greenparty.ie stands with PhDs.
Most PhD researchers are not paid a living wage, and many earn less than the minimum wage. They have no employment contracts, no statutory right to sick pay or maternity leave, no protection from unfair dismissal

Is this building derelict? According to the law, it's not. We have a serious problem with dereliction in this country and the threshold for what can be deemed derelict is too high. The government is replacing the Derelict Sites Levy with a new Derelict Property Tax collected by Revenue.

Some good news for the Palestinian students. Disgraceful the Minister is fighting them through the courts. Incredible work by the students and their legal teams #letthemstudywww.irishtimes.com/crime-law/co...
Stillorgan Library is now open! Two floors, over 1,000 square meters - roughly double the size of the old building - flexible study space, meeting rooms, exhibition areas, beautiful children’s section and an outdoor courtyard. Check it out! #Stillorgan#DublinRathdown
Today's €150 cut to the Student Contribution Charge tells students and young people they are nothing more than an afterthought to this government. The @greenparty.ie would abolish student fees over four years, starting with lower and middle income families first #Budget2027#FundOurFuture
This is the importance that the Government puts on supporting households to move to cheaper renewables - a 2% increase.
This is the direct impact of the changes to the carbon tax. A laughable increase in the retrofit budget.
In last years budget, SEAI was allocated €640 million to support home retrofit.
Min Chambers has just announced that SEAI will get €654.5 million in 2027 for retrofit.
A €14.5 million increase.
A 2% increase.
Very sad to hear that a man has died in a fire at Roebuck Hill apartments. My thoughts are with his family, friends and neighbours at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

At September’s council meeting we approved 64 mobility hubs across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. This is very welcome though E-scooters were removed from the scheme. E-scooters urgently need regulation and enforcement but removing is not that - and students and younger people will lose out
Thanks @irishtimes.com for publishing my letter in today’s weekend edition. Government parties should fund the public transport network properly and run the timetable already published:

My thoughts are with MHR and I wish him a speedy recovery. Every politician, from the Taoiseach to a county councillor, should be able to undertake their work in safety.
Students from Gaza have been offered places in Irish universities - but refused visas over paperwork. Join the student-led protest today at 16:30 outside the Department of Justice, St Stephen’s Green, where @hazelchu.bsky.social and I will be speaking #LetThemStudy! #Gaza#FreePalestine
Palestinian students are having their study visas refused. Ministers Lawless and O’Callaghan must intervene. The Irish Universities Association (IUA) should speak publicly on behalf of the students and its member universities
e-scooters marketed at 6 year olds? No thanks!
We need to tackle illegal e-scooters at the point of sale instead of trying to play catch-up once they're on the road. The law says it's illegal for anyone under 16 to use them on public roads and that they should be limited to 20km/h.

Very happy to get free suncream in our parks this summer!
An idea from the winter, making us safer in summer. Thanks to the SunSmart team at the Irish Cancer Society who brought this idea to me last year.
The US Ambassador's residence is in the Phoenix Park and the US Embassy is in Ballsbridge, quite some distance from O'Connell Street.
The Martin-Harris-Lowry axis of uselessness can take blame for a lot but they don't control the global oil prices.

Thanks to the Dublin People for reporting on progress I've been making with the National Transport Authority for a Dublin Mountains bus service from Dundrum.
In other news, our petition has now gone beyond 1,000 signatures! Add your voice here: change.org/dublin-mountains-bus
This crossing was something I made a pre-election promise on, and I'm thrilled to let you know that it'll be installed in the coming months.

Dublin City Council took up a crucial question this week: how many homes should we build, and where?
Building our way out of the housing crisis has to be at the core of our thinking, otherwise the crisis will just roll on.
Following the announcement that up to 150 research positions at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) are at risk @greenparty.ie has called for a fundamental overhaul of the Government’s approach to research funding
Facts matter. Quoting a worst case scenario figure as the estimated cost for a project is incredibly damaging for such a vital project. I'm glad they took my letter though!
The country needs more homes built. But in our area, it seems our calls for good planning are being ignored.
I spoke with David McCullagh recently on the need for government to build schools in our area - the area that's delivering more homes than any other. 1/2
Ireland cannot outsource its future to FDI alone. Research Ireland’s long-anticipated strategy does not match the scale of the opportunity that exists in Ireland, nor the urgency, given the ongoing geopolitical disruption

What a great Sunday morning! It’s sunny, we’re up in the polls, @hazelchu.bsky.social is on Brendan O’Connor’s panel @rteradio1.bsky.social at 11, and @irishindosport.bsky.social has a brilliant interview with @janetphorner.bsky.social
There’s still time to check seanadvoter.ie and get registered for the new Seanad Higher Education constituency before the February 26th deadline.
Please don’t assume you’re on the list as voters on the previous NUI and TCD panels were not automatically added to this new register.
Drone technologies are moving fast - and legislation needs to keep pace 🚁
My bill to regulate commercial drone activity will this week advance to second stage in the Dáil. The Bill sets out clear rules on planning permission and noise complaints as drones become more common in our skies.
With Trumps threats to Greenland’s independence growing every day, a strong EU response is vital.
I’m calling on the Taoiseach to urgently brief Opposition leaders on the possible use of the EU Anti-Coercion Instrument and the impact on Ireland of the new tariffs threat 🇮🇪 🇬🇱 🇪🇺
1/2 In light of the violations by Grok the X AI chatbot let's look at the gap in Irish law.
There's an apparent and dangerous gap in the law. Under Coco's law that got enacted in 2020 the sharing of deepfake and harmful content is illegal so is the using of such material for harrassment. However
Happy Christmas and a peaceful 2026!

Traffic in Dublin has gotten crazy the past few weeks. But the new government is taking money away from public transport projects that could deal with it.
We could have had a new DART station and improved lines at Heuston and Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot. But no. Roads instead.
