#vss365 Daisy came home with a new spikey hairdo in purple and black. Mum simply smiled, recalling her own fashion experiments. Dad put his newspaper down abruptly, but Daisy glared at him. 'Just don't #start, ok!'

I have mastered the fine art of packing for any trip in a carry-on, yet wherever I #travel, I bring all my baggage along for the ride. #vss365

Where did it go? Sources sparkled and dazzled each day. That was then, the happy days. In the old days of long unions and cranky uncles, we danced. Nowadays, we forgot to #travel to that good place. The future held our destination and an empty promise. #vss365

#vss365 #prompt #Start On your mark, get ready, get set . . . In preparing for a race or new endeavor, there is always the moment right before the start. A mixture of excitement and anxiety. What is it like for you when you start something new? Let's swap stories.

I think if any political party wants a vote winning policy it’d be stamping down on data centres, calling a complete halt, bringing in the most massively stringent conditions on data purpose, energy usage, environmental and light pollution, and water use - in each and every single case.

#vss365 #prompt #taper We covered a lot of miles yesterday. Stories, poems, and photos. Then there are days when you might want to taper. Or you just might want to keep going the distance. It all depends on your energy. Have fun.

I'm amazed that so many of my plants have survived our crazy weather from the last 6 months. We've had 5 heatwaves, torrential storms, now nearing end of October & they are huge, & blooming in deeper autumnal colours 🌿🌺 Thought I'd share them to bring sunshine to your day🌼🥰 #nature #flowers #autumn

As the wind blows east and the rain pummels the ground, and as the temperature drops to minus two, I #doubt the pups will go for a walk despite their cute winter coats #vss365

Rain pours, bouncing up from the road, the path, the gutters gushing. I stand and listen. To the world roar, the skies scream, the white noise far from static. Think of you miles away. In a different town, a different house. Hope you're safe. Warm. Free. #vss365

Event horizon, distant vibes they cherished. They looked for hope. Saw nothing for #miles, in vain they reasoned. The wind never stopped, time clapped their drive, the goal still begged for their endless struggle. They continued. #vss365

Lost in the Highlands. Signal gone. Map frozen on one #mile I stop to rest, but my step counter keeps ticking. I look down at the path moving beneath my boots like a treadmill. Ahead in the mist, the same wooden signpost appears again and again: TRIG POINT 1 MILE. #vss365

I take a pause tonight. I'll get back to posting tomorrow. Keep writing/creating art/being creative friends. This world needs authentic voices/minds now more than ever. But tonight, I rest ✌🏽😎 #writerslife #analogueiscool

I love a good narrator. I would never listen to a genAi-narrated audiobook, just as I would never read a book with Ai-generated text or cover art.

Japanese acting union fights back against AI-generated voice use, proposing strict new guidelines, especially regarding the use of a deceased actor's voice. https://bit.ly/4yTEKAb

AI-narrated audiobooks: I'm here to support HUMAN narrators as a reader and writer. I narrated Witch Way and Ghost Town myself--what a learning curve! I hired a pro, Lori Barkin, to narrate Null Witch. Fantastic voice actress www.bearmountainbooks.com/my-books/nul... worth every penny.

A distance of a single cm can sometimes feel wider than a chasm of a hundred #miles. When you're used to skin to skin, a brush off can feel like the whip of the tail of a fiery comet on a wayward trajectory in the sky. That's why I know when I reach out I will always find what's mine. #vss365

#vss365 #prompt #Miles We worked together yesterday and it sure looks like we conquered a lot of doubt. So now, let's see where the miles take us today. Have fun on your journeys.

The library cat is a silvery presence confirmed by a purr. 'Many of my books are gateways,' she tells you, 'To another land and second lives.' Her gaze sparkles upon the tome in your shaking hands. 'The chances are that you will never quite return.' #ThingsToWriteAbout #Cassiopeian #inkMine
