This release will include an important fix for a high-severity (estimated CVSS 7.5) security issue. I recommend that all self-hosters apply the update as soon as possible once it becomes available; I will send another announcement along with further info once it is released.

esmBot v2026.10.0 will be released this Friday, October 9 at approximately 1:00 PM CDT (18:00 UTC). The following info pertains to self-hosters; if you are using the bot through the main instance (@esmBot#0667), you can safely disregard the following.

The server migration is now *mostly* complete; the bot is back up and running, but there are some slightly less critical parts that are not working as intended. Attempting to investigate; there may be intermittent periods of downtime. Will report when the issue is fixed.

Note that this release will not be immediately applied to the main instance of esmBot; instead, I will be waiting until the migration tomorrow to update it.

esmBot will be going down on March 19 at 4:00 PM UTC for a server migration. The migration is expected to last around 30 minutes, but may be longer or shorter depending on various factors.

I intend to release an update soon with plenty of changes from the past few months. This update will not include the new feature I've previously talked about, but it will include a good amount of fixes and enhancements. Quite a bit of stuff is coming, hopefully I'll be able to share more soon!
