Is Bluesky still popular amongst builders, or do you notice a drop in activity? Wondering if it was just temporary or not. I notice engagement is far less on here again now.

3.500.000.000 tokens later, I'm nearly done with making 800.000 summaries of court cases. That's roughly 5 million A4 papers of text processed and turned into 500.000 A4 papers of text for summaries. Equivalent of a stack of paper reaching ~600 meters high.

Opened Product Hunt just now... Huge mistake. Got away with minimal damage though. Ended up with only - 6 AI generated landing pages - 4 AI agents - 1 'authentic' AI outreach tool - and a boilerplate for making boilerplate kits

I really like it that some astronomy related content makes its way to my Discover page here ๐Ÿคฉ

An ocean of stars. ๐Ÿ”ญ ๐Ÿงช

Energetically anxious. It's a state that I have grown to both love and fear. It's really powerful. Every time I pause my startup grind and do something for the fun of it, I instantly notice an energy boost, but also get a restless feeling.

Sometimes it helps me go back into beast founder mode with tons of inspiration, ideas and crazy obsession. And other times it crumbles me down and makes me question everything I am doing.

But you know what? I think both outcomes are essential. And instead of hoping for the first outcome and fearing the other outcome, I should learn to embrace both.

I'd like to see some more early-stage pre-rev builders on my feed. Who out there is working hard on some interesting products and will launch soon or just did? Preferably recommendations (always better) but tagging yourself is also fine. #buildinpublic #startups

Social media (X included) for entrepreneurs is a tradeoff. You sacrifice mental health in return for (potential) engagement -> conversion -> profit. And yes, I think social media is a net negative for mental health. Haven't met anyone that is energized by it down the line.

Forgot to add the tag but this is a good one for #buildinpublic!

This is such a good example of lead magnets by Coefficient. Learn with me ๐Ÿ‘‡ I was searching for P&L templates for Google sheets. They have a library with tons of them. The cost? Just my email, nothing more. But it doesn't end there, what they do next impressed me the most.

3) every product has some unique angle you can do this with. Try to put your customer's needs as viewpoint, and figure out what tools they also use, what problems they have. Maybe ones that your product doesn't solve, but you can help them with it regardless because it's adjacent to your product.

If you want to check it out yourself, just search for 'google sheets p&l templates' and you'll land on their library page. Great case study. Draw inspiration from it!

1) lead magnets can be incredibly powerful if you figure out what a potential customer's need is just before they arrive at your product. Like if your product is step 4, then what are step 1,2,3 and how to hook into that.

2) it's much easier to sell someone when you've helped them achieve a goal adjacent to your product's offering, than to try and convince someone on your landing page. It just feels like you're not being sold to, but being helped instead.

They seem to understand that obtaining the email and sending some later is NOT the only way to get me interested in their product. Inside the sheet, they have one tab with their product and their onboarding, essentially pushing me right down their funnel without any conscious decision on my end.

And their offering matches exactly with my next need: syncing the data live with that template. Really nice. Whoever built this deserves a raise. What I learnt:

This put a smile on my face this morning! Energy today +200%, let's go!

Just bought #tailscan from @erwin.blue What an amazing tool if you are creating #tailwindcss websites! #indiehackers #buildinginpublic

My head was stuck today. Pretty badly. Lots of things on my mind, lots of things to do. So I did what anyone would do: productive procrastination. Built a game in ~4 hours. Still polishing it but available soon! #buildinpublic

One of my best friends, Dom, goes through all of the lessons he learnt the last 5 years bootstrapping products. Great video, amazing journey and a must-watch, srsly! #buildinpublic

Dominik Sobe@dominiksobe.com

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป I've spent the last 5 years solo bootstrapping 8+ products. Here's what I learned. Three of them turned into sustainable businesses that pay my bills. Each product taught me something valuable - usually the hard way. Here's the most important lesson from each one โ†“ youtu.be/hj5l-64PWyc

Also, pretty happy that the latest version of Tailscan is now also available as demo on the website. Especially the element navigator, pheew, was a tough one to build and perform smoothly! ๐Ÿฅต #buildinpublic

If you see a post on Bluesky that resonates with you, do you: 1) like or comment more frequently than on X 2) like or comment less frequently than on X I'm eager to find out, because there are no impression stats, and so it's hard to figure out the reach this platform provides ๐Ÿค”

Does your product have seasonality? And if yes, what determines the seasons? And when are they? Surprise me! I'll go first in the comments ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Tailscan has prosumers as primary customer type. They behave mostly like consumers, but use the tool in a (semi-)professional setting. As a result, summer months are much slower, because people spend more time outside, take holidays and spend money on 'em. Winter months are generally best!

I always do this, plus I close all my browser tabs at the end of the day. Whatever I need in the morning, my brain will surface/remember. All the tabs I don't need are gone. Otherwise I see a clutter of tabs in the morning and it sends me in the wrong direction and distracts.

Rik Schennink@rikschennink.com

before I close the laptop I always leave future-me a lil' note so I immediately know what's up tomorrow morning

Feedback: 'add a picture to the post, otherwise people read over it'. Me: ok ๐Ÿ‘‡

Am I the only dev that listens to 'Fantasy/Epic music' while coding? Like Peter Crowley, Marcus Warner or Jeremy Soule? Any other recs?

Worked for three days straight on Bluestats without much of anything else. Time for two hours of relaxing and playing pool ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Then back to it haha ๐Ÿ˜œ

Launching Bluestats in the next ~72 hours. Bluestats is a Bluesky analytics browser plugin, embedded in the platform, giving it a near-native look & feel! If you're one of the first 20 people to comment + repost below, I'll send you a 50% discount code for the first year.

* launch = likely going to be landing page + pre-order. I am at the mercy of the Chrome Web Store and their review speed. But we'll figure that out. Small hurdle, nothing major.

The moments I can be creative are one of the best parts of the job. Like this footer text ๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyone ideas on how to extend it with even more emojis?

Just invented a new phrase: "The Fitbit Problem" For when there are lots of statistics thrown at you in a product, but you don't know (as a user) how to interpret them or what to do with them. So essentially, it becomes worthless because there is no clear next step.
