When Republicans tell you they love the military, adore the troops, pray for their safety, always remember that time when a sitting US Senator broke a Marine's arm rather than listen to his grievances.

[TW: graphic fracture, sound of breaking bone] Sen Tim Sheehy (R-Montana) badly breaking the arm of a Marine veteran protesting the war Iran.

Missouri's Amendment 3 would restore an abortion ban with limited exceptions, but its ads focus on a different provision: banning gender transition care for minors. The campaign website never explicitly states it would repeal the constitutional right to abortion voters approved 2 years ago.

From Zelenskyy. Patriot interceptors that could save innocent lives are sitting in European countries for weeks, which they paid for, unable to be transferred to Ukraine because Hegseth refuses to sign off.

Just reinforces a point that should never be forgotten: the Tr-mp stink wouldn't exist if it weren't for skunks like McCarthy, McConnell, Rubio, and, of course, Susan Collins.

Adam Kinzinger@adamkinzinger.substack.com

There’s a photograph from January of 2021 that still makes me angry to look at. Donald Trump and Kevin McCarthy side by side at Mar-a-Lago, smiling for the camera, a week after January 6th. The moment that was tweeted out, Trump’s political career came back from the dead. (link in comments)

Democrats better have plans to rid the government of this bastard and his companies.

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

Uh oh, did someone’s website and personal account experience a big drop in activity after Ukraine hit a Russian data center?

The awful truth is this: if Tr-mp had not raised tariffs, not started a very stupid war, and just been content with him and his godawful family stealing an unimaginable fortune, then prices would be more under control and many voters wouldn't give a shit about corruption.

The Trump Crime Family

It's past time. Democrats are cowards if they don't not only embrace this common sense idea, but shove it up Tr-mp’s ass.

Steve Benen@stevebenen.com

For years, even Democrats who liked Medicare for All assumed it was too unpopular to endorse. It’s time for them to reassess: The latest KFF poll found 66% public support for Medicare for All, an all-time high. (It’s even increasingly popular among Republicans) www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

I've become fairly jaded since Tr-mp came into our collective lives, but the fact that the press almost universally said ho-hum to the president suggesting certain American cities as bombing targets for Iranian nukes is, well, both depressing and fucking infuriating.

A BFD. As people get ready to fill their heating oil tanks for the winter, they learn it will cost 80% more than last year. Your early Christmas Gift from Trump and the Republican Party is that your Christmas present budget will now go to their friends in the oil business.

I'm beginning to wonder if tech bros are conscious, at least in ways that matter to our collective well-being.

Sean Carroll@seanmcarroll.bsky.social

I do think philosophy as a discipline has dramatically underperformed at answering the question “When would an artificial system qualify as conscious?” Should have nailed that one long before it became a practical issue.

Man, I hope this is a thing.

Let's face it: network news, if you're a regular consumer like I am, is each and every day failing to adequately address the moment. It's not just Tr-mp’s physical fitness for office either. His moral and governing fitness--the ubiquitous corruption and incompetence--barely gets mentioned.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

How is it not news when the president nods off in public meetings and press conferences dozens of times? If you follow independent media, you see it and know about it. But why hasn’t CBS, NBC or ABC showed a montage of it on their evening news? They simply refuse to ever show it.

It's the "authorities could do nothing" part of this story that we can actually fix. Jfc.

In the end, as good as MS Now can be at times, it's still a corporation with very little, if any, ethics.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

This is just despicable by MS NOW, which has accepted stolen taxpayers dollars for 38 illegal ads. Give me a break with this bullshit statement too. So your hosts are on air all day saying this is illegal while you are taking the money and running the ads? Just gross.

25th Amendment? We can’t even get network news to air it or even mention it. It’s a massive national media coverup to hide the fact the we have an addled president.

Finally got around to this piece. Wow. For those of us who once loved our country unfailingly, who had hope for our ideals, who believed in at least slow progress, this essay will leave you absolutely depressed--and without any idea how we come back from the corruption and madness that we see.

Trump's foreign policy is not isolationist. On the contrary, his ideologues want to build an international empire run by far-right political movements who serve American crypto, mineral and tech companies, many with links to the president. Read more here: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

The left also assumes that voters are as tuned into politics and policy as much as the activist class is. But you have to assume people aren't paying attention to anything politicians do--including ones who are actually hurting them--and it's part of your job to message to them every single day.
