VICTORY IN FRANCE. A media ban aimed at children that requires the ID of everyone has been ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL, ruling that it violates free expression and privacy. "Protect the children" does not justify forcing every adult to prove their age just to access the internet. KEEP FIGHTING.

A new bill to add to your list when you call your Senators to dissent against the rash of "child protection" bills poisoning our country. The "TOTAL Screen Time Act" takes a page straight from the authoritarian playbook and seeks to implement device-level surveillance to monitor your activity.

🚨 KOSA UPDATE The added "duty of care" standard would force websites to identify minors to avoid legal risk, pushing the internet toward ID checks, facial scans, mass age-gating, excessive data collection and censorship FOR EVERYONE. Next comes a full Senate vote. Contact your senators NOW. (1/2)

The Senate Commerce Committee just passed KOSA out of committee with zero debate & failed to move the SCREEN Act. punchbowl.news/article/tech...

In 2013 Russia passed the "Law for the Purpose of Protecting Children from Information Advocating a Denial of Traditional Family Values" to censor content they considered "harmful". Sound familiar? This extends far beyond "adult" content. (1/2)

The literal Russian censorship playbook is being forced upon you by both US political parties and those in power in the EU because it's been proven to work. The only thing in their way is you. You must make them fear you. (2/2)

The Senate Commerce Committee is set to consider S. 737, the SCREEN Act, on AUGUST 5. It's a sweeping age-verification bill that requires online services to verify users’ ages before they can access adult content. Please contact your Senators TODAY. (202) 224-3121 www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...

Potential victory in the UK! The new prime minister claims to see Digital ID for what it is: an "expensive government scheme" - a huge drain on resources that does not provide tangible benefits. Good start. Time to repeal the disastrous Online Safety Act.

Sky News: BREAKING: Burnham scraps Starmer's digital ID scheme in first major policy pledge, with the money being redirected to other priorities, such as the cost of living crisis. Sky's political correspondent @robpowellnews has the latest. trib.al/DAKioBB 📺 Sky 501

Pro-age verification politicians in Texas have illegally locked the domain of a Costa Rican adult website over age verification and claim it's a victory, but will then assert the British have no authority to do this in America as it violates American free speech. (1/2) www.xbiz.com/news/299218/...

xbiz.comTexas Court Orders Adult Site Domain Locked for AV ViolationsA district court in Texas has issued a writ requiring domain registry Verisign to “lock” an adult website’s domain over noncompliance with the state’s age verification law.

Hypocrites. None of these bad faith politicians - from any country - represent free speech. Anyone who supports age verification hates free expression, and governments are showing they will illegally trample upon it for those they have no authority over. (2/2)

They're building a digital prison and most people don't even know it. Your art, your free expression, your dissent. Literally anything they find objectionable they want to label as "obscene" and debank and imprison you for.

Online safety = PRIVACY. The UK government just admitted this when ruling not to restrict VPNs. Then why are they and other governments willing to sacrifice privacy on the altar of age verification? Could it be that online safety was never the goal?

Open Rights Group@openrightsgroup.org

The decision to row back on threats to VPN use in the UK comes after ORG and over 20 organisations issued a joint letter yesterday. We warned that requiring users to go through age checks or other restrictions “would undercut the security and privacy of millions, without making children safer.”

We suggest reading some of the lunacy on the propaganda accounts pushing age verification on twitter right now. It's very enlightening. They are very clearly trying to paint any modern concepts they find objectionable as "obscene" so they can silence it via mass surveillance legislation.

Potential date set for the Senate to vote on KOSA. Americans, call your senators and tell them that you REJECT KOSA and the KIDS Act. These bills are designed to limit adults' access to legal content they find objectionable. See 🔗 post for details: bsky.app/profile/erom...

New phone script with updated details due to the bill now heading toward the Senate. Thank you @orwellday.bsky.social for making this!

You don't need mass surveillance to protect kids. Something anyone can post for any of the propaganda accounts / bad faith politicians that are arguing practical parental controls do not currently exist. Detailed checklist in the replies.

🚨 UPDATE on the freedom-killing KIDS Act. The bill has not yet shown up on the Senate legislation tracker, but we CANNOT RISK them rushing it through like they did in the House. Call your Senators NOW and refer to it as H.R.7757, the KIDS Act. 🔗 Senator lookup tool + example message in replies!

The KIDS Act has passed the House with 69.5% of the vote (2/3 vote required) and moves to the Senate. With 47 abstentions, this was much closer than expected. The gate's been breached, but the fight is now on. Begin contacting your senators NOW. We'll provide resources ASAP, but don't wait.

This post is unavailable.

We have 3% of the followers on Bluesky that we have on Twitter, and you managed to outdo Twitter's response to the KIDS Act with 8500 retweets and countless confirmations of contacting your representatives. Great work patriots, keep going 💪.

We have a little over 24 hours to save the internet. The vote for a package of internet-freedom destroying bills is being rushed to the US House floor on Monday the 29th. Spread this beyond Bluesky, ASAP. www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...
