Narragansett town beach today ahead of the Nor’easter. Not many surfers out, but seeing lots of out of state vehicles with surf boards all along the coast.

Plenty of beach erosion already yesterday ahead of the nor’easter. We’ll see what today brings.

Last 80 degree day in the forecast around here. It’s been fun.

It was a blue sky day.

This time of year, we’ve got more birds than people on the beach.

Forecast for this weekend - mostly Canun and Zydeco with occasional Blues.

May this music live 300 years.

Sound bath at Beavertail State Park tonight. Fantastic spot for a meditative experience with gentle ocean sounds on 3 sides. These pics are from another sound bath there on the night of a full moon.

15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Newport, Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge is a treasure.

Quite the evening in Misquamicut last night before the music.

Seen these guys in a lot of venues but this is a first for me. $25 per car.

Some of my favorite pictures from around the Newport Folk Festival taken in recent years. At the Fort Stage, the view the fans have is fabulous, but the view the artists have is spectacular.

One thing I like about Newport Folk is the mixing of the generations of fans and artists. If you are a younger folk artist acknowledging a legend with a song, that legend may just come out and join you on stage! youtu.be/kwCdPZJ8nuM

Looking forward to Newport Folk Festival next week. I’ve seen many of my favorite artists there over the last 35 years and many more artists that were new to me. I don’t have many pictures from before the iPhone came along, but here are my favorite shots - Crosby, Stills and Nash from 2004.

Folks along the coast between NYC and Boston have a chance to see many of the tall ships as they transit from NYC to Boston starting today. A few are in Long Island Sound already. The larger ships will take a route around Cape Cod, but many may take the Cape Cod Canal. www.aquamap.app/sail4th-250

Spent a fine summer evening at the Watch Hill Sunset Concert Series with Mystic Dead this week.

My mid-twenties son insisted that I needed to see Dark Star Orchestra at Pier 17 in NYC and he was right!
