It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

It’s easy to do the right thing when it doesn’t cost you anything. It’s harder to do the right thing in cases like this, where it will cost Sally Rooney quite a lot. A really uncommon display of principle. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

It's not completely useless to analyze trump, but it is depressing how we've essentially lost a decade to this guy's cruelty, corruption and incompetence. We have to dump the MAGA movement and make sure they never have power again.

The government *still* isn’t tracking how often immigration agents detain U.S. citizens. We are. 500+ Americans have been handcuffed, held at gunpoint or held against their will in Trump’s second term. Our tally is almost certainly an undercount. THREAD (content warning: violence) ⬇️

Conservatives complained that people would flee NYC after it became "Mamdanistan," and actually, folks, it's crowded everywhere all the time. The vibe is great actually.

Mushrooms are neat because some are like "I'm delicious in a salad", some are like "I will kill you", and others are like "I will show you the face of god, immerse you in childlike wonder, and also you like The Grateful Dead now"

Possibly true, UMich grad school grad here (obligatory "go blue"), and proud @geo3550.bsky.social alum, and I've heard the maybe true fact that UMich has the most total graduates of any U.S. college in history.

Tim Zhu@timzhu.io

You never hear about what public university anyone ever went to except Michigan. You always see or hear when someone graduated from University of Michigan.

Can't wait until this comes out, 2+ years in the making! I have a chapter with an in-depth analysis of the organizing on the show "Superstore," and yeah, I'm annoying in my critique. sunypress.edu/Books/S/So-L...!

Love this statue there!

Waiting for my boy to arrive at Union Station and pleasantly surprised to find a statue of someone we can celebrate proudly. “you can’t take anything without organization.” A. Philip Randolph

Um, likely not true, but even if it was, how is this fraud? How would you make money doing this? Maybe it's MAGA Math.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Assistant AG for Fraud Colin McDonald: "Apparently 35% of people have never even used their Obamacare account for any health services. That is a statistical impossibility and it's because these are not real people seeking real care. These are fraudsters."

More Perfect Union@moreperfectunion.bsky.social

HUGE: Autozone workers just won the first ever union at the company. Despite Autozone spending an estimated $210,696 and using every tactic in the book to stop just 11 workers from forming a union, the small shop in New York chose to unionize today. These workers will now join the @uaw.org.
