Excited to check this out!

Out today, @karenbrennan.bsky.social and Sarah Blum-Smith explore how K–12 teachers support students’ self-directed learning in "Start with Questions," a compelling vision of classrooms as design studios: mitpress.mit.edu/978026205146...

There are few things more powerful in life than a consistent morning routine that includes exercise, meditation, reading, and writing. Even if these things are just a few minutes each day, taking a moment to focus oneself on this discipline has a tremendous impact that resonates throughout your day.

The things you repeat in your life become your truth, for better or for worse. Becoming more intentional about your thoughts, habits, routines, and personal development matters.

A gorgeous hike up Slide Mountain, the tallest peak in the Catskills this past weekend. Combined with hiking the highest in NYS, Mount Marcy up in the ADKs a few weeks back, it has been a great summer.

Two greats together! 🙌

i had the chance to hang with the LEGEND @tejaskumar_ on his podcast the greatest unlock of my career is listening (even tho i run my mouth a lot on the internet) lol open.spotify.com/episode/1xN7...

Fascinating and unfortunately not surprising.

🎧 Zoom bias is real. New research shows that tinny-sounding audio in video calls makes you seem less intelligent, credible, hireable, and dateable – even when you say the same thing. 🔗 doi.org/10.1073/pnas... #Zoom #RemoteWork #SciComm 🧪

Fortunate to attend The Most Promising Companies in the HV event yesterday hosted by The Hudson Valley Venture Hub. So many innovative companies leveraging technology to do amazing work. Love to see impactful work happening locally!

Having a network of trusted friends and advisors in your life is powerful. Not just people who boost you up, but who you can trust to provide honest feedback and critique. It’s even better when it is a reciprocal partnership. Keep building your community and expanding your horizons.

Captured Orion, Mars, and Jupiter on a beautiful clear night yesterday. Orion is a touch stone constellation for me. He and I hang out in the winter while I’m grilling outside. Tracking his movement across the sky lets me know that spring will soon be here!

Engineers with design sense, project management skills and an ability to clearly communicate will become increasingly valuable.

Had 3 LinkedIn posts in my feed this morning on the rise of product engineering (+ one I wrote). This is a good thing. As I've said before, at the very least, GenAI coding assistants are throwing a spotlight on the value developers bring and what they actually do 1/5

Engaging conversation, interesting demos, open people, and all around good community at the Hudson Valley AI meetup last night. Thanks to Aaron Dignan and Peter Kang for organizing and bringing us together!

Using AI as a learning partner for code is amazing. You not only learn a lot from its suggestions, but also from taking the time to understand why it is wrong and needs to be refactored. 🧐

Excited to dig into this! About halfway through your recent podcast appearance. Appreciate your brilliance and giving spirit. Shout out to @tej.as for another great episode!

If you're new to following me, I'd love to share my book that I published in March: framework.guide It teaches React, Angular, and Vue for free! No email signups, no account needed, nothing. I want to help get others into tech and this is part of that process. 💖 Feedback welcomed! 💡

Suggestion I’ve seen floating around - When using AI, one should always type the code yourself, not just copy paste. - Solid advice for sure. Definitely helps you understand and integrate it better. Takes longer in the short term, but the long term payoff is huge.

Fantastic meetup last night in Kingston for tech and other creatives in the Hudson Valley. So many great conversations including climate tech, AI, family estate planning, science fiction, and urban planning. Thanks to Jordan Koschei @connecthv.com for bringing us all together.

Excellent points here from @robbowley.net. Junior devs bring a fresh perspective and curiosity. Just as the most successful individuals invest in themselves, the same goes for companies. Eliminating juniors for short term profit damages the leadership pipeline for future growth and success.

Rob Bowley@robbowley.net

Are we undervaluing the benefit of junior developers? GenAI won’t kill junior devs - if anything, it proves why we need them. Coding is the easy part; real value comes from inquisitiveness, problem-solving, and teamwork. Here’s why juniors matter 👇 blog.robbowley.net/2025/02/11/a...

Progress as a software dev can at times feel excruciatingly slow (both personal growth and product development). There are two ways through it: constant frustration and stress OR consistent gratitude for small wins. The later is the way to find daily happiness and continued growth.

AI is absolutely redefining what it means to be a software dev. The path forward for us is strengthening our ability to creatively solve problems for people. Can we listen, see the big picture, and design solutions that will help make something easier for someone? Can we communicate that vision?

Great insight on modularity here. Particularly appreciate this gem —> Have interfaces designed for the cient’s needs (not “What does this module do?”, but “What does the client need to tell it to do?”)

A great day of coding today. Laying out user roles and auth for the app and SQL database. Having a blast building in stealth for a while, but excited to share bits and insights for now.

Currently building an app for a client that has three levels of RBAC (Role Based Access Control). Doing research hoping to head off as many problems up front as possible. Any insight from the hive mind would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

After many years on the bird app and a social media fast (thanks Jaron Lanier!), it was time for some fresh air. Glad to be here. Looking forward to connecting with other tech folks!

You are up to date.
