Checking all of my RP character names for the WoW Forever name registration and why is "egmund" a restricted name??? I thought it was probably his last name because it has the word "cum" in it, but if I change the first name it's fine??? Wh... What? Why? What am I missing?

losing my god damn mind at all of the shills (there is no other word) in housing communities trying to "well technically" their way into licking blizzards boot. what do you mean it's not Kul Tiran themed because it's themed after one area of Kul Tiras??? are you actually stupid

Jeroen@emptyjerrycan.bsky.social

hey blizzard what did you mean by this

Yeah no totally fine, go and sell me the Human Church Exterior because not all Humans are Paladins, "it's not a core fantasy!" Let them sell you a Dalaran house and tell me it's fine because you can't actually play as a character from Dalaran

i pay a fucking subscription fee dude. you don't have to defend the small indie company because "oh they're expected to make profits!" man. maybe that's the problem also. maybe i fucking hate it here.

looking back at the reactions when Hearthsteel was announced, lots of people's argument was "these predatory business practices actually aren't AS predatory as some other games!" yeah. they WANT us to go "oh two bucks for a bookshelf isn't atually that much" but why am i paying for this AT ALL

i hate the concept of real money for decor so much. i hate that it shows up in the housing catalog in game and that there isn't a filter to remove it. and i hate that the housing sickos, the only people who actually really engage with the system of housing, are so okay with it

It's my birthday today! I turned 35 and immediately I hurt my back picking up my kid after she peed her pants on the playground so it's gonna be a good year I think

me when I'm almost satisfied with the entrance hall of my dwarf home: "now for the next room maybe what I should make is something using, hm, say, roughly a hundred gilnean stone walls?"

It is a balancing act when making dwarf stuff not to make it look like a crypt when all the pieces to use are creepy lopsided stone walls and objects labeled gravestones

I do think it's funny that Blizz was allegedly scared of "orc fatigue" during WoD but I have insane amounts of elf fatigue and this is only patch 12.1.5

so is this taking place after the 12.2 cinematic already happened? I know that we saw it at blizzcon before these quests happened but isn't that all kind of weird?

Sure, she's doing things player paladins can't do, but she's the leader of the Blood Knights, she's a Lore Character, she can have some cool bad-ass powers in this moment. But her voice lines aren't really straining, she isn't really struggling. It doesn't quite work.

So, IDK: I understand that Liadrin exerted herself, that the Light burned her out, the cinematic is pretty clear -- but throughout that fight, it looks and feels and she sounds like she's just doing cool paladin shit! She never sounds exhausted.

love that this guy's heroic sacrifice was just jumping onto a nearby mob without any cutscene or anything. and you know what? it's perfectly effective. we don't even NEED a cutscene. we don't NEED dialogue. everyone should just die in a chat window like this and I'd unironically be fine with it

not really "the Amani" and "the sin'dorei" standing side by side but like, three blood elves, three trolls and then Arator and Orweyna. not AS powerful as you want it to be, Liadrin.

but like, the post-raid cutscene with Liadrin and Zul'jarra was still on the Coiled Isle, right? we don't really have any indication what Zul'jarra went back for (obviously, she has no real reason to stay, so she'd just go back to rule Zul'Aman), or what the state of the island was

if I'm not flying, to get to the quest objective to fight alongside lor'themar and zul'jarra's fight, I have to walk past the quest turn-in point where there are already a safe lor'themar and zul'jarra

it's so funny the way the voice lines are at a completely normal volume but they're talking to each other from soooo far away. lor'themar should be going WHAT DID YOU SAY? SAY THAT AGAIN? NO, I MEAN, SPEAK UP-- LIADRIN, WHAT DID SHE SAY, WHAT WAS THAT?

literally the first time they've mentioned there are bugs and cultists here. like, I could have guessed that was WHY we're sneaking onto the island, but like, would have worked better if you'd explained those stakes first.

and then Arator just "has" an Aqir corpse in Silvermoon. Why didn't we kill one and then grab it, and then bring it to Silvermoon secretly, and then idk, bring in Astalor because I need another nasty stinky character in this (and it'd genuinely be funny for pure Arator and Astalor to interact)

Also what the fuck do you mean we have to get to Atal'Utek by boat? I have a flight path. We had an outpost on the isle. We have people there. *I* have a portal to the isle from Astalor's Sanctum. Yeah, sure, game mechanics, it's realistic that we'd have to sail back, but also, I CAN FLY

anyway going further back to the start of this questline it's crazy to me that the first three steps were flying from Silvermoon to Halduron and then to Liadrin each having fought off an invasion, and then back to Silvermoon without the player having to do ANY combat

It might be nitpicking, but... I just don't really believe that nobody would have thought of this or said this before Zul'jarra. The Blood Elf forces DON'T feel like a fully army because it feels like three guys rushing into things who don't really agree about what to do.

Like I'm supposed to believe there's Aqir Invasions in Quel'thalas, aren't THOSE also demanding the army's attention? Wouldn't the fact that they're fighting one enemy (or even two) already be a reason already why they can't march the army into Zul'aman in the first place?

IDK, I just don't think the story has ever felt this broken before. Yeah, it's been dodgy and there have been bad choices, for sure, but I'm constantly seeing lines in dialogue and quest text where I'm frowning at the lack of throughline

"What would you have me do?" is such a stupid thing to say. I like that he's supposed to be blinded by rage & prejudice and all, but why does Liadrin's "threat" even work? "Zul'jarra won't stand for this!" "Okay, then let her 'not stand for it'? We're enemies? Why should I give a shit???"

I don't know why Midnight's campaign just feels like it's going through the same motions over and over and over again. Didn't we go chasing after an enemy and then Lor'themar wants to invade Zul'Aman and Liadrin says no IN THE LAUNCH STORY? Why are we here again?

Here's another uncooked idea: what if Zul'jan had survived 12.1 as a willing prisoner, having absorbed Ula'teks power, but then he DID die in 12.1.5 instead of Liadrin, burning himself out while channeling Ula'teks power to seal Kith'ix, as that's what it was established to be FOR?

(I remade the room several times, trying different tricks to get the geometry to work, this version is now a bit smaller than it was before so I made the pillars smaller? But maybe I want them to be taller again. I don't want it to be too cramped. IDK I might have to remake it a few more times)

Not sure if maybe I want the gryphon head decoration under the first layer too? If so Il'l have to make the pillars taller, maybe add crossbeams? I do feel that I'm fighting against the housing system by being unable to just group items and move them as one (the way I'd do for exmpl in Planet Zoo)
