I think it'd be nice if sports team owners at least pretended to care about the community they represent instead of throwing ungodly amounts of money that's diametrically opposed to what the region stands for.

Sexual violence can haunt victims for a lifetime—especially when there is injustice. Dolores Huerta taught all of us that it’s never too late to make it right. A beautiful, transformative contribution at the end of a life dedicated to making the world a better place.

rest in peace to Dolores Huerta. after a lifetime of organizing, in her last year on earth, she chose to be brave enough to change the historical record; in doing so, she set an example for generations of feminists

The day, the streets, everything named for that man should be named for her. (In fairness, some things have started to be renamed already.)

Dolores Huerta, who rose to national prominence as the co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association, and was known for her advocacy for women farmworkers, has died. She was 96. Huerta coined the ¡Sí Se Puede! chant and came to define the farmworker movement.

They showed a young Rays fan who looked stunned, but in a weirdly positive way? Son, this should be the worst moment of your young life.

Rays/Brewers really ruining my carefully crafted TV plan for the night but also who knows when we’ll have baseball again so

Since we're still talking about the Cheesecake Factory, perhaps my most American experience was having jury duty and taking a French young man from the jury pool to Cheesecake Factory for the first time and watch him experience the portions.

"The bread is actually legit good though... oh wait no you're French maybe not to you." "It is... very sweet." Upon receiving a lunch portion: "Is the lunch the bigger meal?" "No, no, that is in fact the smaller one."

On the phone with my dad today I was mentioning how I’m still hoping for a longer series but that I’ve been saying it’s the Brewers year and he said, “yes, I remember you saying that a few months ago!” So that is corroboration that I’m a genius please treat me accordingly when they win.

As someone who used to work for DeviantArt, the people you really want to worry about are the ones into vore.

They actually did it; they scored in regulation. A miracle.

That second period ruled, but of course the worst place for the Sharks to be is with a lead in the third so we’ll see

Hulu Live is allergic to offering me the Sharks broadcast first. Always suggesting the opposing team.

Living in LA rules, every concert as a special guest. Lisa Loeb at Michelle Branch, Zedd at Hayley Williams, and tonight Christiana Aguilera sang with Chappell Roan

In 8th grade my mom was a volunteer to grade our spelling tests (our names were covered up) and when she saw which one mine was she said I write like a boy.

Raining in LA, would be a perfect day for watching sports and reality TV but nooooo I have to venture out into the world and see Chappell Roan

Crazy how going to overtime feels so much better when it’s the Sharks coming back from behind instead of blowing the lead.

Also a lockout is less likely, so your Giants fan friends will be in misery again sooner than expected!

Oh okay so the Sharks are fully incapable of winning in regulation. Tying goal literally in the last second.

Switching between the Sharks game and the NLCS, I feel like I gotta watch Men in Black after to complete the Will Smith trifecta

“I’m surprised they left Snell in for the 7th,” I said, turning on the game and foreshadowing what was to come

Thank you to the MLB schedulers for once again not having a Dodgers game on my anniversary, just as they managed eight years ago, when the Dodgers were facing the Brewers and I said “go Brewers” in my vows. Time is a flat circle.

“But Emily,” you ask, “wasn’t it stupid of two massive baseball fans who root for opposing blood rivals to get married in the middle of October?” Yes, probably.
