As we approach the anniversary of All the Way, we are once again (and always) mourning the loss of the fist bump that appears in the shooting script. WE ALMOST HAD A SPUFFY FIST BUMP ON SCREEN! Thankfully, we have artists like MillennialCryBaby to give us what we were denied.

29 years ago, Spike had the easiest slayer kill in history at his fingertips, but bungled it like he bungles everything else. It's almost like his heart wasn't in it. Because Spike? He likes the fight. Happy 29 years of Halloween!

On this date in 2006, Elysian Fields Archive opened its doors. Twenty years and 175,000,000 words (and counting!) later, we're still here, still creating and celebrating Spuffy. Twenty years. TWO WHOLE DECADES. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. We're here because of you.

25 years ago: - Spike defined heart eyes - Spuffy bickered like a married couple in public - Buffy drunkenly admitted Spike was the only person she could stand to be around since being resurrected - We were robbed of seeing Buffy on Spike's bike Happy 25 years of Life Serial.

It's National Scar Appreciation Day, so we're appreciating Spike's eyebrow scar — the souvenir he took with him from his first encounter with a slayer. And yes, we're aware the scar is real and of how JM got it, so also appreciative that was the worst that came out of that encounter.

It's Everyone Writes Day! So grab your (hopefully not stupid) pen and don't stress about finding the perfect word. Getting any writing done at all is, in its own way, effulgent. And if you're not a writer, you can still hop over to EF perusing the millions of Spuffy words written by others.

27 years ago, Spike proved yet again that he's the moth to Buffy's flame. Just can't stay away. Even when showing up means getting his ass spectacularly kicked. Then again, that's why he likes her so much. The last brawl they have before they SMASH. Happy 27 years of Harsh Light of Day!

It's been 26 years since Spike's subconscious kicked his ass into the most obvious realization ever, and we're still not over it. We never will be. Happy 26 years of Out of My Mind! #spuffy #spuffyforlife #spuffyforever #spuffyisendgame #spikebuffy

It's the International Day for Failure, so we're going to celebrate the biggest cringefail in Buffyverse. Failed so hard at killing the Slayer he ended up sacrificing himself for her. "This is the crack team that foils my every plan? I am deeply shamed." You should be, Spike. You should be.

October is Halloween Safety Month (when else would you have it?) so we want to make sure to pass on the following tips: 1. Be careful where you buy your costume. 2. Research the sigils you paint on the floor. 3. Know who has your back when you have to rescue your sister from vampires.

25 years ago, Spike stopped counting the days. 25 years ago, Buffy told Spike her deepest secret. 25 years of our Spuffy hearts breaking with Afterlife. #spuffy #spuffyforlife #spuffyforever #spuffyisendgame #spikebuffy

24 years ago, Spike figured out that everyone was talking to him rather than one another. He also gave Xander a look that, honestly, more people should have been giving him the entire time. And Buffy again demonstrated her unending grace. Happy 24 years of Same Time, Same Place.

It's Family History Month. It's also Elysian Fields' 20th anniversary this month, and Family just happens to be the theme of our celebratory event. So here is the definitive post-series portrait of the Summers family. You just know Spike took Buffy's last name.

28 years ago, we got a preview of Empty Places when Buffy was blamed for doing what her mother (the adult) told her (the child) to do…not come back if she left. But it's okay! The episode makes it clear everything was her fault. 🙃 Happy 28 years of being infuriated by Dead Man's Party!

Oh Eddie. With us for such a tragically short period of time. But Buffy avenged you. And made sure your book found a new home. Okay, so he probably stole it from the basement. The point is, it was still being read. Happy 27 years of The Freshman.

Buffy, while hurt, blamed herself for Angel losing his soul. She, while hurt, blamed herself for Riley cheating on her (as did the story). She learned in this episode that someone can endeavor to make themselves better out of love for her. Celebrating 24 years of Beneath You.

As a Spuffy exclusive archive, our posts do occasionally attract attention from people who A) Hate Spuffy, B) Have too much time on their hands, and C) Are chronically incapable of understanding that not everything they see will cater to them. Then there are people with humiliation kinks.

It being the last day before we kick off spooky season (and begin our 20 year celebration), Moloch decided to choose violence. The site is down currently, but your administrators have called in an exorcist (or a technopagan) to perform a ritual cleansing. Please standby.

29 years ago, Spike barreled his way into Sunnydale and changed the Buffyverse forever. They accidentally telegraphed so much in this episode, you'd think they knew what they had planned for these two. It was all a happy accident, and we were never the same. Happy 29 years of School Hard!

It's School Hard Eve! Hope you've been good beasties, monsters, slayers, and fiends so you get a few verses of poetry rather than a spike through the head. Be sure to set out a plate of spicy buffalo wings by your town welcome sign.

26 years ago, we learned the following: - Buffy has to hunt to get her rocks off - Buffy is a Dracula fangirl - Dracula is a Buffy fangirl - Dracula owes Spike £11 (and Spike isn't even charging interest) Happy 26 years of Buffy vs. Dracula!

24 years ago, the final season of Buffy premiered on UPN and we (along with Buffy) received our first glance at souled Spike. We also got to see Buffy's endless capacity for forgiveness in action for the millionth time. She truly is the character of all time. Happy 24 years of Lessons!

Today is First Love Day, so we're going to take a moment to appreciate how Buffy and Spike's first loves irrevocably shaped them, for better and for worse. Both were foundational and life-changing; an Angel-less Buffy would not be the Buffy Summers we adore, and a Dru-less Spike even less so.

29 years ago today, When She Was Bad gave fans a preview of Season 6. Buffy struggled hard to reconcile with the fact that she had been dead, even for 5 minutes. That her friends didn't anticipate it after she'd been dead 5 months (147 days = 5 months) is…telling.

Our current features explore what happens when someone's deepest fear becomes reality. We know Buffy Summers as the Vampire Slayer. But what if she became a slayer who is also a vampire? And how would a renowned slayer killer like Spike take the news? Find all here: linktr.ee/elysianfieldsarchive
