Definitely the most exciting baseball game I’ve ever watched on my phone while also playing in my Tuesday night pinball league. #RaysUp

The fact that this didn't end as a scorigami was a waste of a "blocked extra point kick being returned to the opposite end zone" situation.

🏈 TB 43 - 13 CAR FINAL ❌ No Scorigami. That score has happened 4 times before. Last time: Sep 8, 2019 Tennessee Titans defeated Cleveland Browns

Seems like every Northwestern football game is on Peacock. I guess that's because they assume Northwestern alumni can all afford the subscription.

Sure, it's been 78 years since the Guardians last won the World Series, but the Rays have NEVER won the World Series, which means it's been INFINITE years, which is more than 78, so obviously the Rays deserve it more. #RaysUp

In the past two nights, Tampa Bay sports teams have caused Yankees fans to look sad, and caused Jerry Jones to look sad. A successful 48 hours!

The movie theater where I saw TRON is now a church (I realize this is a fairly common theater reuse).

The movie theater where I saw FORREST GUMP is now a Noodles and Company, but still has the theater’s sign

I also want to note that the Wilshire/La Cienega number got down to “<1 min” and then changed to “21 min.” Good thing I’m going to North Hollywood!

I’ve got about two-thirds of the red-band WILD HORSE NINE trailer memorized. If I see it a few more times (which I probably will, given how many movies I see and how often it runs), I’ll probably have it all down pat. What are we, hippies now?

There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival. Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on. (Source: Deadline)

I'm going to assume mermaids evolved in Lake Erie because it was a biological advantage to have hands they could use to slap their own tails and say "Welp..." before swimming away.

Yeah, its on the website now. Here is your WNBA Cleveland logo for the Cleveland Sirens.

I just found out that the 2017-18 Canadian comedy series NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW will be available on Disney+/Hulu beginning this Friday (along with the follow-up movie that came out earlier this year, NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE). Very highly recommended.

Last September, I was laid off as a full-time employee but kept on as part-time 16 hours a week... then in May, I was cut to 9 hours a week... and now I've been cut to zero hours a week.

When I worked as a closed-captioner, I captioned a LOT of soap episode, mostly Days of Our Lives. They were relatively easy to deal with because they just used scrolling captions (quicker and cheaper for them than the "pop-on" variety). 1/2

I used to work on a soap opera as an AD (Frank Valentini, the current EP of GENERAL HOSPITAL was my boss) and it's really delightful seeing people discover how fun these shows can be through the Oliver cameo

Over 20 years later, I still remember how we captioned the open and bumper on Days: LIKE SANDS THROUGH THE HOURGLASS, SO ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES. WE WILL RETURN FOR THE SECOND HALF OF "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" IN JUST A MOMENT. 2/2

I promise, finding a 1976 phone book in a time capsule was not necessary for this fact to be "revealed." Area code 407 was created in 1988. Ask a local Gen-Xer what their phone number was when they were a kid!

If you liked the picture I posted yesterday of me outside the #MST3K studio, here's another 1996 photo, this one of me at a slightly less well-known tourist attraction.

When my youngest daughter was five, she came to believe that only people who lived in the city they were born in could understand fear. In our family, only she was born in St Paul. So we’d all be quietly driving around together and she’d suddenly bellow, "NONE OF YOU TRULY UNDERSTAND FEAR!"

Someone once asked me for directions on the Columbus Circle subway platform, even though I was wearing a Tampa Bay Devil Rays shirt and there were dozens of people around in Yankees apparel, so I am obviously a Real New Yorker.

Ken Jennings@kenjennings.bsky.social

In terms of all humans who have ever lived, I am in the top 0.0001% of being a Real New Yorker. (Go there maybe once a year, know not to say Avenue of the Americas or “Houston” Street, don’t think much about it at all.)
