Thanks @mluczak.bsky.social !
Day 2 of #NetSciX2026 and the weather is no worse than yesterday. We're kicking off the main conference programme this morning with an exciting keynote talk by @eliassi.bsky.social on hypergraphs.
Our new paper on searching the space of hypergraphs to solve constrained combinatorial optimization problem is out. This was joint work with Guilherme Ferraz de Arruda, Wan He, Nasimeh Heydaribeni, Tara Javidi, and Yamir Moreno. communities.springernature.com/posts/buildi...
This paper started as a class project in my ML with graphs course. Kudos to Moritz Laber, Samantha Dies, and Joseph Ehlert for sticking with the project. 👏🏽👏🏽
Now in 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 a new study on how higher-order social interactions & hyperedge homophily shape information spread amplifying or reducing inequality Paper: tinyurl.com/y9mwx3c7 @moritzlaber.bsky.social, @samanthadies.bsky.social Joseph Ehlert, @jkbren.bsky.social, @eliassi.bsky.social
If you are #KDD2025 this week, stop by David Liu's talk on "Bypassing Skip-Gram Negative Sampling: Dimension Regularization as a More Efficient Alternative for Graph Embeddings". This is joint work with Johan Ugander and Arjun Seshadri. doi.org/10.1145/3711...
👇🏽🎉👏🏽👏🏽
New paper on “Forecasting Faculty Placement from Patterns in Co-authorship Networks” by my excellent students Samantha Dies and David Liu. If you are at #IC2S2, stop by Sam’s poster to hear more. arxiv.org/abs/2507.14696
Just in time for #NetSci2025 a new paper on the effects of higher-order interactions and homophily on information access inequality by amazing NUNetSI students arxiv.org/abs/2506.00156
New paper in Bioinformatics on negative sampling. Thanks to Ayan Chatterjee and Babak Ravandi for leading this project. academic.oup.com/bioinformati...
