I cannot imagine feeling the way those people do. So happy in their pure hate.
That time when segregationists carried a coffin with a Black baby doll. The purpose? They didn't want six-year old Ruby Bridges to integrate an all-white school. This is more than just a photo. It's a receipt. This is your history, America. Own it.

Goes back to this. There was always agency - even among poor white women who didn't own slaves. The ideal for white women's place in society was set on this archetype of "wife and mother" and it trickled down to all socioeconomic levels, not just plantation owners

I'm the same age. This is not some distant past we're talking about (or, rather, NOT talking about). Not dealing with. My parents were civil rights and labor rights activists in the 1950s and 60s. I grew up going to demonstrations. They died in the 90s, and I can't imagine what they'd be thinking.

I know this all too well. I grew up in south Louisiana, the same state this happened in, during Jim Crow & the implementation of desegregation. It wasn't until 1967 that my elementary school was desegregated. I was in 1st grade. My bff was a member of 1 of the 2 Black families bussed in.

Everyday. They bullied her & called me names. I wasn't hurt by the names they called me. I was hurt by what they'd do to her. I was hurt by her hurt so I stayed beside her during lineups & on the playground during recess The stuff that happened in The Deep South during these times: horrorifying

It’s so hard to see how these grown adults acted about this little girl. And she’s just a few years older than me and still walking around. 😒 I can’t imagine how she feels today seeing everything being done to erase the progress she fought so hard to achieve and the abuse she took. 😔

Wasn’t she the little girl that Lyndon Johnson walked into the school himself? This was sickening to read, but thanks 😊 I’ve only met one racist nurse in CA and when she said, we should go out for coffee, I gave her a wrong number and hoped I’d never see her again! Fuck racists!

I grew up in that time in Alabama. I was lucky to have liberal parents who enrolled me in the first desegregated elementary school in my town. It was near an army base and I was lucky to go to school with children of all races and different cultures. I am better for it.

Look at these happy faces. Bad culture. Anti-human culture. These are the people so ashamed of the evil in their hearts that they lie to pollsters about what they support, then vote with their evil hearts anyway. Fight back, make retrograde racists crawl back under their rocks.

The excitement in her expressions makes my stomach turn. What have we ever done to deserve this? Dear white people, there’s a lot of work to undo generations of harm. You can start with reparations by supporting Black folks’ emergency mutual aid. My emergency relocation fund ⬇️ ko-fi.com/ciara93086
ko-fi.com/ciara93086 Im currently raising💰 for EMERGENCY🚨RELOCATION im currently being cyber stalked by my ex abuser and have been financially cut off from my black conservative family. I have a job opportunity in LA. I need help ending my lease early (550$) + extra emergency travel funds (500$)

Smiling & laughing as they fantasize about the death of a child. That is some sick shit.

I'm in my 60's and this is the first time seeing this. Everyone should see this. The children should write essays about this. The adults should write essays about this.

Wonder how many of them gave birth to some of the current day Maggots? I have a magnet on my fridge that is Norman Rockwell’s drawing of little Miss Ruby.
