I won third place in the Wizard of Oz themed contest at camp this weekend in my Tornado costume.
Yes, there is a camper, a cow, a house, and a Jeep caught up in funnel.
Well, I legit made use of the Kia's V2L yesterday after the Fiat went 20%-0% in under 4 miles.
Life with an old compliance car. Not for the faint of heart.
I'm loving #lorecon in #Durham. I met a Hazbin Hotel cosplayer and had to get my pic with her. The wings were barely taller than me so I'm crouching down a bit. Massive costume! So cool!
This morning I went to use the massage ball against my glute on the same wall I've used for years at the gym.
It said not today, fat boy.
Now I have a patch job in my future.
Happy Dolly Parton Day! She was the best thing to come out of my home state, and I hope you will participate in remembering her life & legacy today.

So far, this week:
- found out I don't need an injection or surgery on my back
- my A1c is down to 5.5; no longer diabetic
- I won the $50 weekly raffle at my favorite thrift shop
- completed a 4mi hike without hip pain & kept up with the marathoners walking pace
Very thankful, very grateful.
Anyone who has ever had a dog knows this look. It's the one they give you when they can tell something is wrong, and they have decided they are not leaving your side...
This beautiful painting is called Fidelity, and it was made by British artist Briton Rivière in 1869.
Still unsure about the zirconium studs, but I will say (and i rarely believe this): the bigger the better on my size noggin.
Peanut gallery, what are your thoughts?
Took my Aussie girl on a 2.4mi walk/trail route planning this morning and came back to find my car charging next to the other brightest smile-inducing vehicle currently on the road: VW's ID.Buzz!
Not feeling my best today, slight coigh and congestion from the changing seasons, so I took the day off to rest*.
Rest = catch up on all the stuff I've let slip past few weeks b/c of work load + social calendar.
Workout took nearly 2 hours to give an idea on pace and breaks
Now, to thrift!!

This photo was the joyous we are going to the bark park photo in line at Brueggers getting my lunch. We didn't know the walk from car chargers to dog park was *1 mile* by itself. We are sweaty and tired and gonna sit here a minute...

Score!! I hated these compared to my Newton but I did own several of them during the 00s. Can't wait to print a stylus for it and throw some fresh batteries in. Pretty sure I have a machine with an IR port I can use to install apps on it with.
Its been a heavy week for all of us, for me: interrupted sleep, weird dreams involving all orange cars, & waking up in tears.
However, last night I found respite in my community at Stonewall Sports Run Club & our local leather bar.
Be kind, give hugs & smiles to one another. Its what Dolly wanted.

my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.
I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.
Dolly Parton helped fund Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine in between providing free books to children. That’s not a joke. That woman saved lives and taught kids how to read, while be stunningly beautiful and entertaining us all. What a legend.
Well, upon today's truly tragic news... Tonight we will watch 9 to 5 while polishing off whatever I bring back from the ABC store.
RIP, Dolly. Such an inspiration, such a huge loss.
Dolly Parton on funding education and childhood literacy programs:
My daddy was the smartest man I have ever known, but I knew his inability to read probably kept him from seeing all of his dreams come true. Inspiring kids to love to read became my mission.
Dolly Parton was a supporter of Willa B. Farms, an animal rescue in Old Hickory, TN. I hope you will consider a donation in her memory. 💔 www.willabfarms.com/donate
Dolly Parton, among a thousand other amazing things she did in her life, gifted over 330 million books to kids through her Imagination Library program. Her passing is a tremendous loss to the world, but you can support the program today to keep it going imaginationlibrary.com
I was all worked up about the #MRI I just had.
Over in like 15m & none of my ink vibrated like my artist cautioned.
If anything I felt sightly warmer than the part of me not in the machine (this was feet first procedure).
I've tracked the In/Out service miles of every EV I've ever owned. Easily pushing 500,000 EV miles (sheet reflects 360k+ miles) since 2016.
Whoever says electric can't go the distance is dead wrong. I'm your proof. I'll never go back to suck, squeeze, bang, blow.

Well, that's because I did one of those #onon#hash#hikes today. Over 6mi of rocky terrain near an old dam in #Durham. I'm exhausted for obvious reasons.
The Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC's annual #OutSouth#Queer#Film#Festival starts this weekend. A documentary on Raleigh's historic Oakwood neighborhood is on the roster & I very much look forward to seeing it.
