The October-November #DragonsLairPaintingChallenge is now live! This months theme is: "You lookin' at me, boy?" This theme revolves around a single miniature armed, armored, looking at the camera, and ready for battle. It's really loose, so have fun with it! Expanded rules in following post

Hobby streak reset tomorrow I'm a full time working dad, sole provider to a family of four in the current timeline, and I have twin toddlers If I manage to hobby in a week is a win. The streaks are a bonus.

Also to expand on last night I was at a friend's birthday party and met the author of the 5th and 6th Ragnar Blackmane books. I was wearing my space wolves jersey and he just came up and we geeked out about Warhammer for a while It was SUPER awesome and made my weekend

Looking up this person's past work and uhh Play stupid games win stupid prizes? (Look at their sculpts in the background) Really tired of the "woe is me, the tiny innocent creator, bullied by the giant corporation I clearly infringed copyrigt and stole work from" rhetoric from these people

Excuse the chonky phone pic but I enjoy how the base colors have come out, I really do Minor details left to basecoat then I'll be adding some depth to that gold trim!

"You Lookin' at me, boy?" rules - a single miniature, posed in such a way to be looking directly at the camera, clearly ready for battle or a fight. - one alt text description per submission, please - submissions due by November 15th midnight EST - email submissions to email in my bio

Kids are at the park so I get to airbrush some terrain while jamming to my hobby playlist Also. For airbrush or paint mixing: highly recommend these bulk stiff bristle, cheap brushes you can get like 50 of for 5 bucks. Works much better than old paintbrushes and easy to clean/replace

I joked about airbrushes yesterday on a post but it was just a heat about high end airbrushing complexity I'll never deny it as just another tool There's a lot to be said for getting an entire terrain piece smoothly basecoated in a color in less than 20 minutes

My miniature backlog is not made of things that had good rules, but just things I see and go "man that looks cool I want that" and then try to find time to get to. Or listened to a book. Hence why I'm trying to get through several starter sets for various game systems so they are act least playable

got my space marines codex and can personally confirm that over 2/3 of that thick book is lore, art, galleries, and painting stuff It's a very nice move to see and I feel like in conjunction with the ork codex being similar we should expect it to be the standard this edition
