nature.comMethod of the Year 2025: electron microscopy-based connectomics - Nature MethodsA large network of interconnected neurons serves as the basis of brain function and of behavior. Methodological advances have enabled the reconstruction of large-scale and even whole-brain connectomes...

Our group at the Allen Institute is recruiting a technician and postdoc to work on light microscopy-based connectomics. Please DM me or share with anyone you think may be interested in this NIH BRAIN CONNECTS funded project.

Worm25 has been absolutely fantastic so far-congrats to everyone for your amazing work! One striking change in the talks this year is it seems like the consensus number of neurons in the adult hermaphrodite has returned to 302 after a few years at 300. Is CAN back?

I may not be at #worm25 but the real discussion endures

The number of C. elegans neurons must always be contested, unknowable, liminal in order to maintain humility in our efforts to list, label, and categorize nature, which is indifferent to our schemas.

We're looking for an Allen Institute summer intern interested in mapping single neuron projectomes/proteomes in the human brain! Happy to chat with anyone about the opportunity and please share with anyone you think may be interested. alleninstitute.org/careers/inte...
