Trump, for over a decade: "I wouldn't give him a state dinner." This week: A full state dinner at the White House for China's Xi Jinping, complete with the arrival ceremony, a gift, and billionaires everywhere.

Someone at Target should have sought an opinion outside of the narrow perspective that deemed this to be an acceptable image for an American retailer to promote. Stop using the thought-terminating acronym DEI. Say the words — diversity, equity, inclusion. Which one of those concepts is unappealing.

This is insane. How many American soldiers gave their lives in the Korean War? “Denuclearization” of Iran? North Korea actually has nuclear weapons.

Outrageous. Let’s see the few republicans to speak up actually blame Trump here instead of “bad advice”

The fact that the Democratic senators are agreeing to a continuing resolution until Dec 11th with NO compromises for them is absolute political malpractice and head scratching. Why not even try to ban like…. The arch? Anything!

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.

Psychologists are going to fill volumes of academic journals trying to explain and understand this level of narcissism.

This is yet another deeply insulting daily moment from Donald Trump. Leadership isn’t about lifting yourself up by tearing others down. It’s about lifting others - period. Leadership shines light. It doesn’t cast shadows. It leads with integrity. It does not lead with lies.

Barack Obama famously said we do not have red states or blue states, we have the United States. That message never reached the petty wannabe tyrant now in the White House.

This should be an impeachable offense. I understand that we’re way past any of that, but that shouldn’t stop us from naming it.

I just heard that Abagail Spamberger will deliver the Democratic response to Tuesday’s State of the Union address. I have nothing at all against Gov. Spamberger, but I think the Dems are missing an opportunity by not having Amy Klobuchar deliver the address in a Minneapolis town hall.

@npr it’s not a principle. It is a constitutional guarantee.

The Supreme Court will ultimately decide whether to uphold the longstanding principle that grants citizenship to the children of non-citizens born in the U.S., following a legal challenge by the Trump administration. n.pr/48E1oko

really interesting that the vice president cites as a key intellectual influence a guy who thinks black people are natural slaves

To the “I voted for this” crowd: You voted for the guy who gutted the National Weather Service. Now we’ve got dead families and missing kids in Texas, because storm warnings didn’t go out in time. And he gutted FEMA so they can’t properly respond to disasters. That’s what you voted for?
