People talk about Bluesky users "being in a bubble" like it's a bad thing but the more I think about it the more I kinda like it? A protective bubble I could deploy for me and my friends sounds great. I wouldn't want to be in it all the time though, maybe if it had a 10 second cooldown and 650 HP?

Honestly this has all been a lesson learned for me. Knowing no good comes from a company merger, I should have protected myself against any eventuality properly, like more proactively job hunting or putting up a bubble shield against potential aoe attacks on the point

Just informally told my boss I'm quitting. No choice in the matter, they just overlaid a policy on everyone that excludes me outright, and I'd rather quit than get fired for it. It feels slightly bad, but mostly it feels like a relief. Not looking forward to job hunting in 2026 but that's baseline.

I won't even miss the coffee because I make it better at home. I think I'll miss the coffee shop workers more than anything else about this place and they aren't even in the office building. They were nice and one of them remembered my name a bunch of times

There's something melancholy posting about this from a room in the office I always hid in if I needed privacy. not out of love for the company, but mostly because I played Pokemon GO in here a lot bc it's in range of a gym

The discourse about people going back to twitter is so confusing, but I'm realizing they're getting duped into thinking they can go back to a better time. To a time when they enjoyed it on there We delude ourselves that we can actually go back to any time, good or bad, and it's never good for us

Things can get better or worse, be as good or bad as they used to, but they'll never be the same. It's common sense but a lot of things are packaged that way, to sell that you can re-experience a time of your life if you just recreate it piecewise. But you gotta move forward even as you look back

All-too-serious a take for what's really just a dumbass choice, but I feel like in the grand scheme it's the easiest thing to fall for. Especially if you're old enough to have nostalgia within your adulthood, when it's all blended together. You can't go back to 5 years ago. You can't even go back 1.
