I'm excited to announce that @vemetric.com is now Open Source πŸŽ‰ After a long period of thinking about this, and exchanging with others, I finally decided to operate Vemetric under an open-core model, making its codebase openly available Let me tell you a bit more about it πŸ‘‡

I added view counts to the blog posts on my personal website they're powered by the Vemetric API and link to the public dashboard :D

Vemetric's ingestion engine can now be scaled horizontally πŸš€ Outbid's viral launch broke Vemetric and showed me I had to change something. I'm confident that Vemetric is now able to handle such viral launches I published this follow-up blog post πŸ‘‡ vemetric.com/blog/scalin...

vemetric.comMaking Vemetric's Ingestion Horizontally ScalableA follow-up to the Outbid post-mortem: what I changed in Vemetric's ingestion pipeline, so it can scale horizontally and handle traffic spikes without losing data.

This one has been in the pipeline for a bit too long: the Globe View is now live in Vemetric! πŸ₯³ It let's you see from where people visit your website and product. Either live or for a specific time frame.

My shipping muscles got a bit rusty lately, will write about that in another post in detail, but I hope that this release is a change in the right direction. I want to ship more again! :D

honestly, the process of creating videos with Codex + the Remotion plugin by pointing to your code base so it knows how your UI looks & feels is so awesome can't wait to show you the final result and share some insights how I'm currently running my video creation process

this espresso machine is easily one of my best investments so far in 2026 after trying a few different beans and experiments, Iβ€˜m super happy with how my daily coffee tastes 1/2

it also makes me drink less coffee, because it’s not just a single button press anymore, and I really enjoy the process and the end result much more also keeps the way open for machine upgrades or other bean and coffee experiments in the future, but for now Iβ€˜m very happy :D

I'm gaining more experience in identifying the patterns of the "malicious" events and while it's really annoying that this happens, it's also an indication that my customers product is successful, so I'm also a bit happy for them πŸ‘Œ

On the marketing side I spent some time in creating a new Hero section for Vemetric's landing page! It's the first step in making Vemetric's positioning clearer and making the LP a clean and smooth experience for people to learn about what it is about and what they can expect

Another big win in May was that Vemetric received its first customer on the 500k events plan (an existing user upgraded) πŸ₯³ The platform is starting to serve bigger projects as analytics provider!

My main focus in May was on the new Globe view. As the perfectionist as I am it costs me a lot of time and I'm still not finished. But I have to admit that I'm still super busy with my freelancing project on the side and I'm happy with what I've already achieved with the Globe.

I'm ensuring that the globe experience on Vemetric will be suuuper smooth 🀌 again it's taking me longer than I would have liked, but it will be worth it :D

since today, Vemetric has its first customer on the 500k events plan! πŸ₯³ (an existing user upgraded his plan) that's a huge milestone and I'm very proud to serve users with so much traffic :D

got myself a new coffee machine a few weeks ago and oh boy Iβ€˜m enjoying it a lot :D it’s my first espresso machine, and my first time using ground coffee .. so a whole new world opened up 😬

I already wanted to rework Vemetric's landing page for some time, and last week I got a push to tackle it so there you go, I just released a new Hero Section for Vemetric's LP :D happy for any kind of feedback, especially regarding the new copy

I got a huge update for Vemetric done - I've upgraded to the latest Clickhouse Version (the main analytics DB for Vemetric), with zero downtime. I'm getting more confident with DevOps and providing my customers a stable experience, and that makes me very happy :D

April was the first month after coming back from my paternity leave, and I still took things slowly and also pursued new hobbies + soaked up moments with the family.

I did a thing :) My M1 Pro served me soo well in the past 5 years, an incredible machine .. but I experienced some friction recently, especially when running multiple projects and tasks simultaneously so it's time for an upgrade πŸš€

yesterday I did it! I upgraded Vemetric's main analytics database (Clickhouse) to the latest version after letting it slip for a longer time now I'm already feeling so much more confident doing such upgrades and migrations in production with zero downtime .. feels great :)

Vemetric itself might not have a lot of daily users / visitors yet (around 150) .. but my users have! so it’s important to setup a proper and scalable infrastructure right from the start, so I can handle my usersβ€˜ traffic without a problem πŸ’ͺ

I'm currently spending a lot of time and effort on DevOps topics for Vemetric on one side because it was necessary (e.g. memory leak, bloated docker images, ..), but also because I soon want to offer a proper self-hosted version for Vemetric, which should build upon a clean base 1/2

today I had my first ever onboarding call with a new Vemetric customer (he subscribed immediately without trying the product πŸ˜…) he's doesn't have a technical background, so he needed some help with the integration, and I've explained the basics to him 1/2
