you would think that buying a new washing machine wouldn't be a 2nd class trip on the ship to hell, but it is. The delivery guys were unable to haul off the old one because it was full of water. So Misty and I spent 2.5 hours figuring out how to drain it. And we're still married! ;-)

When we were in Savannah, Misty saw a manatee! I didn't see it, but she was sure. This is my backyard, and I did not know manatees came so far north. I swam with them in Florida a few times, but never have I seen one in Georgia or South Carolina. She also finally got to see a few alligators.

So the docs put me on a topical steroid for my legs. Stuff works like a charm, but it dries your skin out like crazy and makes it itchy. So Misty bought a moisturizer to keep my legs from turning to sandpaper. It is "coconut and shea butter," and it works great. Plus, I smell like a pina colada!

So I won't say it is fun having a heart that doesn't work right anymore, but I will say that having a kickass wife who'll drop the gloves for you at a moment's notice does in fact rock.

We've gone from semi-serious house shopping at the coast to serious house shopping at the coast. I need a treehouse to escape from my whackamole father, and I need it now. The current situation is untenable.

I went to Duke on a busman's holiday between professorial gigs. ended up getting married and changing the entire course of my life. Stuff happens. I walked this quad everyday for two years.

If I may be so bold, get your custom christmas cards from Ligus. She's gotta dog to care for, and she's a great nature artist. Put your money where your mouth is. Who do you want to support, Hallmark or a legit artist with a sick dog? I'm with the sick dog every time.

It's a very stressful month and I'll try to put up more art in my shop. Thanks for everyone who supported us 💚🐶! Heart- and wart check up are next. I put a view Christmas prints in my shop 🪸. If enyone wants a personal designed print, please DM me 🙏 🐡 ko-fi.com/s/46abb1ab97

A word to the wise -- when you don't shave for 10 days, and then you shave, for the love of all that is holy, use a NEW RAZOR!!! I look like a walking paper cut with mange (okay, it's not that bad, but it really wanted to be). ;-)

Do you know what's cool? I'm about to tell you what cool is. Cool is getting a new pair of trifocal glasses that let you actually see the world you live in. I was starting to think the world was just fuzzy by nature.

I listened to the song a few times, and quickly decided there needs to be more of your guitar work in what we work out. Everything I do is chunka chunka punk. Your work is more nuanced than mine. I would love to hear you and Sheila do some call and response vocals. That would be very cool.

Misty's daughter and I sorted out a problem with the trendy dangly lights. My legs are such that I can't do anything on a ladder, but we got it done together with surprising efficiency. When your stepdaughter grew up as a competitive gymnast, walking on a brick wall turns out to be no big deal. :)

My friend Ligus is a wonderful nature artist and a true lover of her dog. Christmas is coming, and original art is always a great gift.

Vet month, so I am selling some old and new art at a lower priece. You guys were already so supportive 🙏💚 - Thank you! Small commissions are open too ;) .

I'm just going to put this out there. Make of it what you will. Drilling giant holes in structural steel with a low-end consumer grade cordless drill sucks eggs through a straw. Can you do it? Yes. And it counts as a serious arm workout. But you will be a grouch the rest of the day.

What does it say about you when you get really psyched that your 1/2 inch metal cutting drill bits arrived in the mail today? Tomorrow, there is some metal that's gonna get some serious holes drilled in it.

I spent 45 minutes trying to figure out how to get help for my father. I swear I have done topology problems (that's very difficult mathematics) that were more straightforward. This is how old men die. That was the worst online system I've ever used.

Fun fact -- if you look up the band Suicidal Tendencies online to verify a lyric, the web will divert you to a suicide prevention hotline. Dude, all I wanted was a pepsi. :)

There are good days, like when you buy flowers for your wife for no reason and she loves them. There bad days, when the phone won't stop ringing because everyone wants something. Then there are _really_ bad days, when the ear worm that won't quit is "yummy yummy yummy I've got love in my tummy."

A good friend of mine is a very talented physician. She once said they should just put Ativan in tap water like they do chlorine. I'm starting to think she may be onto something.

I'm to the point where if I see a post with a picture of Trump, Xi, or Putin, I don't even read it. I just scroll past. I know it's bad. I know it's absurd. Just tell me a joke or something. I read the NY Times every damned day. I know how bad it is. I don't need constant reminders.

@sixftjamie.bsky.social I have no idea how you survived taking care of your mother. I am borderline homicidal at this point. It's okay to get old, it is okay to lose faculties, but why does he have to be a jerk about it? It seems like a needless source of major stress on everyone around him.
