NEWS: The U.S. State Department says it will give U.S. visas to defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family who have fled Brazil after Bolsonaro's loss

Today I received the death certificate for my bio-dad. I wrote about him in my book. He denied his paternity, but shared kin & my deceased bio-mom confirmed he was my bio-dad (and there's the resemblance). Legally I could obtain this record & have more facts. No one could say "no." Very empowering!

This is not normal.

This will be interesting how the global fertility industry promotes this story. All surrogacy stories involve women, most of whom are exploited before being severed from a child. The voice of women and these kids are always hidden--they are the cogs and merchandize. www.ohchr.org/en/press-rel...

Rescues continue in San Juan County after 20 overnight operations. The Shiprock Bridge remains closed, and more rain today could cause rivers to rise again. Evacuations remain in place. Officials warn floodwater is contaminated with sewage. 📸 Navajo Police Department #NMwx

The reason why this woman did not know where she was born is familiar to every adopted person: We are given fake (“amended”) birth certificates that legally certify falsehoods about where and by whom we were born. So many of us have died, and will die, never having seen the originals. 🥚

Because this #adoptee did not know the circumstances of her birth until very recently, the US government has charged her with voting illegally. Intercountry adoptees are living on a knife’s edge in this cursed country of ours. apnews.com/article/syra...

Having to take my naturalization document everywhere is tedious and frustrating. Not knowing if they'll accept it as a legit document is downright scary.

Catastrophic flooding along the San Juan River. Farmington has surpassed its 1909 flood record. The river at Shiprock is forecast to crest at 23.17 feet just after midnight. If you live near the river, be ready to evacuate. Stay away from floodwaters. #NMwx

A young adoptee was reportedly murdered by adopter, and then body was put in the attic. In US adoptionland, this type of harm is not new. "...the skeletal remains of her adoptive daughter, 9, were discovered in the attic of the family's home in 2020." Beyond words. www.yahoo.com/news/videos/...

The Trump administration is the most corrupt presidential administration in the history of our republic. Full stop.

Another late discovery adoptee finding out at the age of 51, having already voted in past elections. This will only get worse. Your secret is their trauma

Lindsay Beyerstein@beyerstein.bsky.social

Oh, God, it's getting stupider. One guy was an adoptee who, as far as he knew, was born in the US. He didn't find out he was adopted until he was 51, by which time he had already voted in six elections.

Keeping secrets about an #adoptee's identity results in traumatic outcomes sooner or later. This is awful. 🥚

🥚 Imagine finding out when you are in your 60s that 1) you’re adopted and 2) not born in the U.S. and 3) your parents never filed naturalization papers because you are arrested by ICE for VOTING and hauled into court in shackles. Just happened in Syracuse,NY: www.syracuse.com/news/2026/10...
