Out-of-process (sandboxed) iframes in Chromium-based browsers have been problematic for a little while now. This affects all custom visuals in #PowerBI, making them appear blurry unless the conditions are *just* right. As devs, there's currently nothing we can do to mitigate it from our end.

Despite the fact that I've been consulting for a while now, there is always much that can be learned from the wisdom of others, and getting the benefit of @sqlgene.com's experience and insights is too good an opportunity to miss... especially at this price! Easily the best $10 I've spent :)

My Power BI Consulting course is live! you can get it for only $10 for the next 24 hours, and then $50 for the rest of the week. training.sqlgene.com/p/power-bi-c...

Extremely grateful for PBIP/PBIR this morning for giving me the capability to remove the visual level filters from loads of visuals across several #PowerBI bookmarks without having to completely re-do them in the UI πŸ™‚

The journey to #MVPSummit begins in Christchurch NZ! I'm really looking forward to catching up with friends and meeting many new ones :) Safe travels, all! #MVPBuzz

I have a fair bit of NZ chocolate in tow, as well as a lot of preview code for in-flight projects, so if you're keen to talk about or feed back on stuff I have planned for free and open-source data viz, or have some ideas to work together on, I'd love to catch up while I'm here :)

Deneb v1 activity looks pretty quiet, but I'm still just as busy working on Deneb in general. I'm looking forward to a point where the code on this next project is organized/good enough to open back up!

I made a repo for stuff I'm finding out with core visuals in #PowerBI (and time to write up). For now, I've provided a workbook for the box and whisker plot I recently posted about (and this has an accompanying video, courtesy of Reid Havens πŸ™). I'll try to do more soon! github.com/dm-p/pbi-cor...

And #Difinity #Conference Auckland 2024 is a wrap special thanks to all speakers and volunteers it was a blast I missed Leila Etaati in very moment of it

The Chromium bug causing blurry custom visuals in #PowerBI should now be resolved as of Chrome >= 131.0.6778 and Edge >= 131.0.2903 I've tested my visuals (Deneb, HTML Content, etc.) and they all look good for me from these versions on, so hopefully other folks enjoy similar success :)

As I've not had much time to explore some newer parts of #PowerBI lately, I've spent a Sunday afternoon playing with #PBICoreVisuals. It's certainly been interesting taking a clustered bar chart, throwing away the "bar" part, and then just using layout and annotation features to build a box plot πŸ€”

Our archery club has grown significantly in the last few months so we've done some work to organise ourselves a bit better - it's been fun doing data viz in the physical realm

My reMarkable Paper Pro just arrived - a little bit bigger than the 2 (left) and already excited about the possibilities for reading and for my day to day workflow :)

The Great Deku Tree was a nice weekend project... made slightly longer by sliding off the table at a critical point β…” of the way through and smashing itself up pretty good πŸ™ƒ

Data viz in the wild (at Aarhus H): probably unsurprising for many, but for someone with a minimal amount of Danish in their vocabulary and from a country that doesn't *really* do trains, this takes the guesswork out of where you need to be on a platform, relative to your train carriageπŸ‘Œ

As I'm stuck in an LA hotel mid-transit to the UK, I thought I'd make myself useful - #Deneb 1.7.2 for #PowerBI has been submitted to AppSource! In the meantime, you can use the standalone version if you need any of the fixes more urgently. Read more: deneb-viz.github.io/blog/1-7-2-s...

deneb-viz.github.ioDeneb 1.7.2 Standalone Available (and submitted to AppSource) | Deneb1.7.2 is a minor update that fixes initial issues observed in the 1.7 release. The standalone build is available now, and the AppSource version is currently undergoing certification.

We're off to a good start: - flight #1: delayed, then having to run between terminals to make... - flight #2: which left on time but abandoned takeoff and taxied back to gate, where I'm currently sat, which will make... - flight #3: somewhat impossible to catch πŸ™ƒ But safe travels nonetheless πŸ‘

#Deneb 1.7 for #PowerBI is available for beta testing, before we submit to AppSource. If you're keen to help us out (and it will be a fantastic help if you can πŸ™), please check out this blog post where you can find out how to download, and what's new πŸš€ deneb-viz.github.io/blog/1-7-beta

Now starting the long journey from Christchurch to Redmond and looking forward to my first in-person #MVPSummit and meeting lots of people for the first time!

Sunday afternoon project: UpSet plot concept using #Deneb and #VegaLite in #PowerBI. Transforms are fully dynamic and have no hard-coded dependencies. There's a bit of work to do to make the finished product a bit more presentable, but figuring this all out was the tricky bit :)

#deneb 1.6 for #powerbi has passed certification! πŸŽ‰ This should take a short while to deploy fully to your reports (a couple of weeks). In the meantime, Deneb's website has been updated with the latest details. The best place to start is the change log: deneb.link/changes

#HTMLContent 1.4.0 for #powerbi had some issues with iframe display, due to changes in the custom visuals APIs. 1.4.1 has been submitted to AppSource to resolve this issue. The regular version (which allows external comms) has been approved and will be deployed in ~10 days.
