For #BirdOfTheDay #BestOfJuly , there's a story here. This is a young crow who fell down a chimney, was rescued by my partner from the chimney owner's house, was lured into a box, spent the night in our garage, recovered on our patio before rejoining its family. #birds #ukbirds #ukwildlife

#BirdOfTheDay theme is #WingsWideOpen. I've not really mastered taking pics of birds in flight but managed to get this of a Red Kite above the garden. They're very common around here, it's rare I can't see one out the window. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number... er... 9. I missed out number 9! A raven, usually hard to see but easy to hear with its "gronk gronk" noise. So still 32 species photographed, 2 more seen this year (crow and Chiffchaff) #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds Glancing idly out the window when this one flew in and perched on the branch where the hanging feeders are. Probably enticed by the doves, but in no way fast enough to catch anything. Hello Buzzard! #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 32. A terrible picture at long range (800mm equivalent) taken through a dirty window as quickly as I could, but it counts - Treecreeper! Only the second time I've seen one. 32 species photographed, 2 more seen this year. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 31. A dull windy day and a Buzzard appears - quite rare to see perching, they can be seen in the air quite often, though not as often as the Red Kites. So... 31 species photographed this year. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 30. Finally a Red Kite graced the top of our tree and spent long enough calling for me to notice and grab my camera. This is at 800mm zoom equivalent (OM-1 so 400mm lens). Note the #bluesky behind too! #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , a very new addition... Blue Tit fledgling! Super cute. Seems to have got the hang of the peanut feeder too. Few of them around, tweet tweeting away. Not the only baby tits either... #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , no 29. Last of the pictures I've got so far - the chaffinch. Always around but hard to get a reasonable photo. Visitors seen in the past year but still to get a picture of - Crow, Raven, Buzzard, Red Kite. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , our local killer in the sun last week. Starlings hide in the Honeysuckle, #SparrowHawk gets frustrated and sits around looking haughty. I think it's a female from what I've read. So it's Mrs Sparrowhawk to be formal. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife #bathtime

#GardenBirds , no 27. Finally! A Goldfinch. They're often around but don't really hang about in our garden. Had a pair of them the past few days and managed to get close enough for a decent pic. Pretty colours but a bit odd looking for me. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 25. The Pheasant. Does this count? It's a bird and was in the garden, but not exactly "wild". We do get them coming in on occasion, but definitely not a regular. It mooched around for an hour then flapped off. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 23, another corvid - a pair of magpies. Surprisingly nervous, it's taken an age to get a reasonable pic as they tend to be in and out quite quickly. I think I've got 3 more species photographed, then it's going to tricky. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 21, and it's the one trying to reduce the numbers of others... the Sparrowhawk. Spent a while in the tree yesterday but no catch in the garden. One footed perching being demonstrated here. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 20, the last of the dove-pigeon crew, the Stock Dove. Stunning colouring on the neck. For a while my partner thought they were baby wood pidgies but they never seemed to grow up... so we did our research! #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 19, the Nuthatch. First time I saw one in the garden I'd never even heard of them, let alone seen one. Very regular visitors, but so hard to get a picture when they aren't on the feeders. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , number 18, third member of the pidgie crew - the collared doves. Loads of these around, I've counted over 30 in the big tree. Favourite food of the sparrowhawks though. #bandits #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds , Blue Tits have got fed up with the squirrels nicking their seeds, so have started stealing peanuts from the squirrel feeders. See how one keeps watch while the other steals! #bandits #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds number 15, the Great Spotted Woodpecker. We've had times where they are pretty frequent and had 2 or 3 at once but not seen much of them this winter. Was very lucky to catch this yesterday - keep your camera by the window! #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife

#GardenBirds number 14, a pair of Wood Pigeons. We have 4 members of the pidgie tribe who visit, though getting decent pictures of a couple of the species is proving tricky as they tend to fly off at the sight of a camera in the window. #birds #birdphotography #ukbirds #wildlife #ukwildlife
