Archibald 4th Earl of Douglas, Son of 'The Grim' was a colourful character. He chased Hotspur Percy away from the siege of Hailes in 1400. Was shot with three arrows & lost an eye at Homildon Hill 1402. Lost a testicle at Shrewsbury in 1403 & lost his life at Verneuil in 1424.

In 1400 Hotspur Percy besieged Hailes in East Lothian. After two failed assaults he made camp. But was chased away at night by Archibald Douglas (Son of 'The Grim') when his siege camp was set ablaze. #HailesCastle #ScottishCastles

My youngest Son, Cameron and myself as Men at Arms at Haddington 700 King Robert The Bruce celebrations in 2018. Overlapped image on Graham Turner's Classic Agincourt painting to make it look more Arty.

Raglan Castle, Monmouthshire (South Wales) reconstruction mock-up over 'Prys Williams' image. Castle associated with William ap Thomas (known later as 'the Blue Knight of Gwent') who fought for King Henry V of England at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. #RaglanCastle

In 1403 both Hotspur Percy & Prince Hal (later Henry V) lifted their visors at Shrewsbury. Hotspur got a full force impact to his aventail & died. Hal fortunately got a ricochet arrow so didn't didn't go full force & arrow head eventually removed with Bradmore tool.

As a Kid at Dirleton Primary School in 1970s my introduction to history was thru Ladybird books. Henry V & Agincourt must have stayed with me as I use a Henry V dummy ('Victor') in my Man at Arms weapons talks many years later! #ManAtArms #Reenactment #storyteller

Netflix's King Henry V of England played by Timothee Chalamet and as I would like to have seen him in armour for Battle of Agincourt in 1415. But understand leading man has to be seen for modern story telling! However in medieval times an arrow in the face would spoil your day.

Westgate Southampton (England) reconstruction suggestion. Where English forces left with King Henry V of England for France in 1415 leading to Agincourt. #SouthamptonTownWalls
