I was thinking about the (power) fantasy of playing as a Jedi, and ended up with an ‘application of force/violence’ dial: choose the degree of violence you want to apply, and whether you'd rather risk undershooting or overshooting! dicegoblin.blog/restraint-st...

A modern day ttrpg set in our world except there's Stands from JoJo, and the Stands are classic fantasy rpg archetypes, ran in a fantasy system of choice. So your character doesn't know magic, but your Stand, a level 14 wizard, does.

I have a bunch of notes on what could be a cyberpunk rpg. I might write a blog post on it soon. First order of business is: it doesn't need a combat system just for the sake of it - it needs to recognize that it's a spectrum.

My first TTRPG character ever was an Aarakocra paladin, and a question in my discord had me thinking about flight in TTRPGs again. Back then I played 5e, which I don't think had any interesting answers to "you can fly".

Writing a DANGER CLOSE flavorsheet for "campaigns in a spaceship", and just as DANGER CLOSE is part skirmish combat rules, part universal TTRPG warfare campaign toolkit, I think it's going to be very useful for anyone running *any* type of spaceship based campaign.

A good Wolverine game would've seen him as a tracker, Infiltrator, drifter and barely-contained predator. Hunt people through forests, smell blood, terrify enemies, choose how much you want to be Logan or Wolverine

I'm writing sheets to help convert DANGER CLOSE into whatever setting you want it to be. This one's for Star Wars and I'm also planning to write one for Warhammer 40k. Any other settings I should try to cover?

Conservation of Ninjutsu: Group of Enemies, 6 HP, 1d6 damage. Acts as one entity. Each HP represents one enemy. When rolling damage, cannot do more damage than current HP. This way, at lower HP, the dimished group will deal less max damage, but higher average damage.

DANGER CLOSE is a system for theatre-of-the-mind tactical military skirmishes, yes, but it also contains a robust system agnostic campaign framework, in which you can pick-and-choose the elements you want in your campaign. I took it for a rest run! dicegoblin.blog/one-smuggler...

Completed Act 2 of Metal Gear Solid 4. What a glorious mess. I still find a lot of the aesthetics as cool as back when it came out, but the difference in fidelity of cutscenes and character models compared to level- and game design is so jarring.

we don't know how to do marketing really so if you're in the know about FIST stuff you're super cool. like you know about the sort of obscure sleeper shit most don't know about. you're ahead of the curve

I've seen some really cool experiments about what Star Wars would be if Phantom Menace would have been the first movie and we would have just kept building from there. Now I kinda want a sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3 in a world where Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first game in a new series.

A version where MGS 3 is like, Big Boss's Casino Royale, and not necessarily the start of Big Boss's descent into becoming what he became later in the mainline series. A sequel as "an exciting new adventure for Big Boss!", instead of something so woven into its own mythology.

War-Torn Ice Moon, the TTRPG book whose development teasers spawned all the Europa Ice War posts in 2025, is finally out to backers digitally! It looks SO good with all the art & layout, but the text itself is really substantial too - and makes me want to run a FIST campaign *so bad*!
