HomeView is adorable, and I can't wait to play with all the different faces. My one wish is for some kind of widget/live activity sync for third-party apps from my iPhone, but that may be for another day.

All ready for the iPhone Duo pre-order on Friday! The Apple Upgrade approval is already showing up in my Klarna account as well, which I take as a good sign.

Seeing a lot of Guys Being Dads at the theme park today. We're gonna raise the bar for fatherhood off the floor this generation, I can feel it.

It's been two years since the awe-inspiring second season finale of Pachinko, and I'm still so disappointed we won't see more. Of all the cancelled series on Apple TV, this one makes me the saddest (and that's saying something).

iOS 27 is out later today, and two of my most-used apps – Structured day planner and Bear notes – already have updates out integrating with the new Siri. You love to see it.

Thanks to AppleCare Express Replacement, I got my replacement phone delivered today and have already set it up. I’ll be switching away from this phone in a month and doing this all again.

The new Siri Modular watch face coming next week in watchOS 27 is pretty cool. It can intelligently show the most relevant widget right on the watch face, with the option to add fixed complications as well.

Silo is just top-notch TV. That finale was amazing. I'm so glad they filmed the last two seasons back-to-back so we can see how it all ends next summer, but it's still going to feel like a long wait.

I've been letting my kid watch movies on my iPad in the car, and his reactions to the playback control buttons in different streaming apps are hilarious. Apple TV: "Why does it have a bubble?" Disney+: "Why is it so small?" I didn't realize I was raising a tiny UI design critic.

My child's love of reading is due in no small part to the anticipation of receiving a new book in the mail every month from Mrs. Dolly. She's touched countless people through her talent, but it's the endlessness of her giving that I'll remember most. May we each strive to love others so well.

I've never done the "some personal news" thing before, but here we go: Yesterday was my last day at MacStories. I loved getting to write and edit for a website that meant so much to me, and saying goodbye isn't easy, but I have a lot to be thankful for.

I'm grateful for the team I had the joy of collaborating with day in and day out. I'm grateful for the readers whose responses made writing fun. And I'm grateful for the chance to play a part in so many stories, OS reviews, and especially app highlights – work I'll always be incredibly proud of.

macstories.netSiri AI and Apple’s Trickle-Up StrategyIn the month that I've been using iOS 27 (launching in public beta today) and the new Siri AI, I've come to a few conclusions: Siri AI is a much better Siri and will (probably) be a massive success; the newfound chatbot capabilities of Siri will pose a serious threat to OpenAI and the vast

That long list of platform improvements at WWDC grabbed my attention and hasn't let go. It got me thinking about my earliest experiences with Apple software and how we might be returning to the past – in a good way. My latest in the Club MacStories Monthly Log: www.macstories.net/club/month...

macstories.net“It Just Works” Is the FeatureI got my first Mac as a graduation gift in 2010. It was a MacBook Pro – silver, since that was the only color available at the time – with a 13” glossy screen and a CD drive. Its operating system? Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The timing couldn’t have worked out more in

My state added support for IDs in the Wallet app a week before I had to renew my license, but I threw caution to the wind and tried it anyway. I'm currently at the DMV, and the Wallet app notified me that my ID was updated before the new card was even finished printing. This system actually works?
