ABSOLUTELY concur. If you haven't got tickets yet, I have to wonder why not. ;) #Wildwood is simply the best film I've seen in many, many years.

#Wildwood is a stunning work of stop motion art. Jaw-dropping animation on such a grand scale packed with an emotionally rich and mature story, gorgeous production design, stellar voice work, and an incredible score. A multi-year journey paid off beautifully. Bravo Laika.

Dude, that evil rat was TERRIFYING.

The villain in the Secret of Nimh scared me so much that forty years later I named a character in a sci-fi story after him specifically so I could kill him with a nuke.

Guess what? I'm none and all of these. I write a Version .33 following the outline, then I lock it in a box and start over. Version .66 is done without an outline, hitting only necessary STORY beats. Then I merge the two scene by scene into a proper Version 1 of the novel. That is my 1st draft.

When Elon Musk's groups spent $20M+ on Wisconsin's 2025 Supreme Court race, his involvement backfired and his candidate lost by 10 points. Now his super PAC has quietly spent $14M+ on key midterm races, including the Texas Senate race. Would be a shame if people found out.

So, Jen and I are on the Oregon coast this week. Recharging, relaxing, sampling awesome food... and working on NEW STORIES! Brainstorming characters, settings, basic plots... You know, the FUN stuff! What's your favorite part of writing? #booksky

Just took our annual trip to #AbbysLegendaryPizza. If you are lucky enough to live near one of these blessed restaurants, go. Now. Right now. Drop what you are doing and partake of the pizza of the GODS. Seriously, Abbys, you need a Seattle area location. Immediately.

When I give someone a nickname, its rarely a term of endearment. It's because they have lost the privilege of being anything but a monster in my eyes. Always because of the vast harm they have done, and are unrepentant. The process of redemption is long, but those who walk that path deserve respect.

Petunia. We ain't pretending. I used to listen to the Jim Dale audiobooks one a year. But after you showed your true colors, I GAVE my copies to a used bookstore. There's no ethical way to consume your work anymore.

If she has to make statements like this the boycott is working better than we expected…

I talked about Maria earlier today, here she is. Such a little sweetie. So damn scary when she wants to be... But she's all-around awesome, and she wants you to take care of yourself, too.

Gabriel, the Lord of Angels in #FlameAndClaw is almost more a force of nature than a character. Arrogant, elemental, and possessed of an overwhelming presence.

Lucy dares Cam to join her in a small dragon tat. Wait a sec. I finished writing these books a year ago, and I only NOW am informed that MC Sara has a tattoo somewhere on her body but refuses to tell me what it is?! Lady, I WROTE you. Don't keep secrets from- Oh, Maria swore you to secrecy? Oh, ok.

You know what? Self pub authors need to be their own marketing team. But I hate it. It's why I've been so quiet. So I'm stopping. I'll keep a pinned post with info, and maybe post a link bout once a week. The rest of the time, let's talk about awesome characters, neat stories, and great books ok?

ebook for research and non-fiction. Audio for fiction. There's just something about a story being PERFORMED that adds something magical to any story.

Not really a CHILDHOOD book, but in High School, I read "Boobytrap" by Jack McKinney, the first book of the Robotech novelizations. It absolutely blew my mind, because of how it expanded the story.

Dune. Frank Herbert. I was seven, it was the only sci-fi book in the school library. Note: in my forties, I reread it, and STILL don't understand most of it...

Wow, so many of my faves are solo stories, but as a SERIES that is consistently awesome? Bujold's Vorkosigan saga. Even if you HATE sci-fi, try those books. They are life changing.

Sci-fi to Fantasy and every subgenre and flavor in between. Side effect of learning to read in a Catholic school where Judy Bloom was "too left". ..though, they had DUNE in the library. Huh.

My home state just charged us $18.54 for the privilege and convenience of telling them we no longer own our old car. Any day now I expect them to level an oxygen surcharge for every bloody breath.

Corporate spending on elections has already topped $500 million this year. That's one third of the $1.58 billion in total that corporations have spent since Citizens United in 2010. Hawaii and Montana both have plans to neutralize this disastrous SCOTUS ruling. Other states must get on board.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.
