.NET has released an out of band security update to address the vulnerability in the Google Brotli library. This is the same library NPM and others use. .NET and ASP.NET Core do not use Brotli by default, you have to opt-in. Details on what to look for in your code are in the advisory.

Mixed feelings when the daughter couldn't sleep because of the storm and bakes at 06:30 AM, the dog can sleep through a storm, but not activity in the kitchen, which means I had to walk the dog in the rainy storm, but it also means I'm now at 8 AM having fresh-made coffee and a just-baked brownie🤣

The way forward is to invest in people. It's been a tough time for our industry. But even in challenging times, supporting your team's growth isn't just a benefit. It's a responsibility. Learning, connecting and exchanging ideas matter. Invest in your people. Bring them to Øredev

It's kinda cool that you can pipe C# directly into dotnet run since .NET 10, so you can easily use C# as an inline script. Here is a Cake.Sdk task handling AI: #dotnet #csharp

There’s something poetic about receiving an email from a company requesting permission to email you... ...because they lack my opt-in to get their emails.

Hey folks, important PSA for the Bluesky Microsoft community Do you find the @bluesky.ms labeller service valuable? It's costing me a bit to run (requires a VM) and right now I'm neither a Microsoft employee nor an MVP. Plus I now have a SaaS business to look after. 1/2

In open source, closing a decade old issue causes mixed feelings of a little guilt, but having decade old issue also means you've kept something alive for more than a decade 💡

I’ve had a blog post sitting in my drafts for a couple of years. I originally wrote it just for myself to process things, but I recently guested on a podcast about the topic. I might just revisit the draft and publish it so you can read it too when the podcast episode goes live.

Not sure how useful it is yet, but parsing PageFind indexes in C# was a fun kata. Built a .NET MCP Server for AI agents to search PageFind indexes, locally or online. Demo: list indexes, search my blog & fetch page. Open source & on @nuget.org: www.nuget.org/packages/pfmcp #dotnet #mcp #pagefind
