Back after a week down in South Pembrokeshire. Good weather most of the time and Coco our cockapoo enjoyed all the treats and fuss she received. Revisited Cresselly pub which this time was not a hole in a wall hostelry, and as our son was with us for a day or so, paid respects at Dobby's grave.

Enjoyed what Narberth offered and the town centre and Castle beach at Tenby. Also a nice walk at Lawrenny, and local produce from Four Seasons Farm Shop. Petrol is significantly cheaper as well.

Nancy Harman is a very good signing and has been a key player for Hampshire especially with their successful run chases.

🏏Latest Glamorgan Women signings Megan Sturge, 21. Wicketkeeper/batter who played 15 times for Glamorgan on loan from Hampshire this year. Nancy Harman, 27. Spin bowler/ middle order batter & regular for Hampshire in Tier One. Eight squad players (out of about 15) plus 2 rookies confirmed so far

In Bayonne and living it up at a hostel. Tomorrow is my rest day but I was told that today was one day in France when you could freely visit museums but that will not apply tomorrow. Almost 1100km cycled in France so far and only one more cycling day to go on Tuesday in France.

I'm now just outside Arcachon. I passed Le Porge earlier today and even though it's more than a month since the wildfires, there's an area totally devoid of habitation and vegetation of several football fields in size just on the west side of the place. Partitioned and being investigated.

Currently on Rest Day in Saumur. The cycling has gone well as this is over 300km from the beginning. If you're doing the Velo Francette then you get water taps on the route up to around Mayenne but after that, if there are any they are hidden. This has been a journey of watching my hydration.

Without being explicit by naming the sides involved, this shows the number of conceded matches in the Home Counties Womens Cricket League for the current season to date across all divisions. Games are played with less than 11 players as well. 1st XIs = 20 2nd XIs = 8

If you dig into some completed games then 7 players could be used to constitute a game that can be completed, and these are T20 up to 40 over a side matches. Here is a more detailed screenshot,

Holiday to France and Basque region of Spain is now less than a month away. Will cycle the Velo Francette from Ouistreham to La Rochelle over around 10 days. Then fun begins. Choice either to take bike on train to Bordeaux or continue cycling and take train from Soulac sur Mer to Bordeaux. 1/

Then after a rest day take another train either to Biganos or Ychoux and get back on the Velodyssee for around 5 further days to end at Hendaye. I like the thought of getting to Soulac as this minimises the part of the route that we cannot cycle with a Bordeaux stopover. 2/

It seems that some cricket commentators have a problem with a club being called Binfield. Here is a screenshot from their website for games tomorrow. Please note that the county's Visually Impaired team rightly gets priority.

Spent a lovely Saturday afternoon in Isleworth, London on a course. An introduction into bread baking. I was the total newbie of the small group but still managed to make something presentable and importantly cooked correctly. Have most of what I need except for ingredients but this will be 1/2

basic bread making so the breads that need cultures such as sourdough will not be possible. Still it will be healthy if possible without additives that you find in commercial breads.

Genealogy or Family Tree. Currently DNA tests are very low cost at the major providers. If you do the test then please put up a tree at least back to your grandparents and if possible great grandparents. Verify your tree as I have a DNA match and from what I can research there's something wrong.

I cannot match records to dates and it's the latter part of the last century that's the problem, as you cannot be as sure of your tracing especially with incomplete names or statements that do not tie up. Therefore something that gets back to 1921 or prior in the UK is a great start. Thanks.

Watching the French wildfires situation closely. The last time this happened it basically closed the Velodyssee for at least several months. I am even wondering if my train get outs will be possible as I will need to get to Hendaye.

Ex-Berkshire age group and possibly senior Women's players who played at the Blast Finals day yesterday were, Surrey - None Hampshire - Poppy Tulloch Durham - Mia Rogers Blaze - Charley Phillips (a very happy Gary)

The plan has been partly actioned. Return train tickets with Railcard bought. Ferry ticket for Portsmouth to Caen returning from Bilbao bought. Cycling the Velo Francette from Ouistreham to La Rochelle then EV1 Velodyssee down to Hendaye. Not 100pc sure of o'night camp stops yet.

But with e-bike hope to make some distance daily with stopovers at Saumur, La Rochelle and maybe Bayonne. Then trains from Hendaia to Donastia and then on to Bilbao. Had a slice on two days of Basque Cheesecake in London recently so something to look forward to.

So glad I decided to watch today's stage of TdF rather than listen to the WT20I Final. 170 was my par score (see AUSvIND for indication) but it looks like that will not be enough. The Women's T20 Blast group games have concluded. Glamorgan thru to final at home next weekend.

Look's like an elimination game - Kent v Gloucestershire with the winner playing Glamorgan (next Sunday). Not sure if anything happens in League 3 but tables shown Berkshire winning Div 1A, Staffordshire Div 1B, Dorset Div 2A (Promotion) and Shropshire Div 2B (Promotion).

If you are in the UK then as long as you have a valid TV licence then the #tourdefrance is on S4C. Wow that Jonas V (Visma LaB) has just superceded Fillipo Ganna (Ineos) on top of the TT podium.

and Tadej Podgacar cannot match that by just over 11 seconds. Unbelievable tbh. I do not expect most people would have expected Jonas to both win the stage and also take some time out of Pogi.

A good job by England Women. Kapp bowled out early. Was I worried after 6. No. The maybe old timers batting did the job. Just don't get out please. The run rate is fine. I had 170 as my par. I was okay at halftime. Fielding they did not worry it seemed.

England's fielding and ability to ask questions got them through. That gives them a chance against the Aussies. Pity no tickets available even at a reasonable price. IMO the Aussie batting could be fickle but it's a lot better than SA tonight, so needs a step up.

In hindsight has Laura W had a good tournament especially batting? Kept SA interested and wickets fell. Dean running to prevent a second run. Like her attitude and application. Team rallied even with drops. Put on the squeeze. Vauxhall end was a little leaky but no of bowlers meant coverage.

Both South Africa and Australia get through but show fortitude and frailties. Why I say this. Well Australia bowling is not great but frugal with extras. Their fielding today was poor at the key moments. The batting was for me two things. Pretty doesn't work nor does weird shot making generally.

Australia have the advantage having played Lords today and it looks like a new final strip is two pitches away. India did test but a couple of observations. There was no ahead/behind schedule at all shown on the big screen. Second they has several support staff permanently behind the boundary .

Then one might have an opinion about the Retired Out of Jemima Rodriguez. Didn't lose a ball over it. Still a great couple of days and great to see Suzie and Sophie recognised already. Maybe Lea should get something too. Looks like I maybe going to the second semi on Thursday.

The risk reward was minimal. South Africa seemed to be either expecting a win or just couldn't work things out. They scraped it. England have a chance without complacency for both matches as long as they select on performance and mental ability.
