NASA Night is tonight at DPS and I would really, really like it if the community could move beyond the prevailing "hoping that in a few years things will improve again somehow" towards some collective action about what it is we want to preserve in planetary science as things are gutted. Anyway:

NEW: Virtually every news organization has a Meta business account. Meta’s new terms say it can scrape websites “associated with” those accounts—and use the content to “train” its products. @andrewdeck.bsky.social and I on what this means for publishers: www.niemanlab.org/2026/10/meta...

Ok yeah so that's just never going to be a road going car lol It's the 2020 Roadster again but this time it has cold gas thrusters strapped to

Ok I'm not going to lie. That might be one of the most insane things I've ever seen a car do? It's entirely useless but like... still cool

I have to log onto Twitter/X every now and then to grab a few photos and such for my work, and my *god* is it incredible how poorly that website runs. All of the stuff forced in to make sure you can only use it and nothing else makes it run just awfully and often locks out firefox lmao

The consensus opinion of PROMISE at LEAG was (quote) "stupid fucking idea." If NASA is pursuing this, then somebody should be able to explain to space industry experts with vested interests in lunar exploration exactly how and why this is not a stupid fucking idea.

It has been over two months since Administrator Isaacman tweeted this. We were told at LEAG a few weeks ago that "PROMISE" is still under development. What is its objective? Mission profile? Estimated cost? Development timeline? Where is the money coming from? Who is assigned to work on it?

It’s honestly not even that amazing of an achievement. It took Starship 14 flights to accomplish the bare minimum expected of a launch vehicle, and even then it’s not exactly been a smooth flight.

SpaceX just launched the 14th Starship test flight, and it's now successfully in orbit for the first time. This is an amazing achievement, and I absolutely detest how Musk has ruined this sort of thing both for me and for humanity.

Something interesting I don't think gets conveyed very well is how violent large rocket launches really are. Even after a nominal launch, walking around a launch pad afterwards is a hell of a place to be.

NASA released a bunch of 16 and 35mm film engineering footage of the Artemis II launch today. Naturally I knew what I had to do with it.

You’d better believe we’re back! Never Tell Me The Odds began its trip back to Launch Complex 36 last night as the New Glenn teams start preparing for a return to flight. 📸 Blue Origin/Derek Newsome

Fun photoshoot last night of us loading GS2 onto Pegasus for the first time. This stage is heading to the Stennis Space Center is Mississippi to be tested on the B2 test stand. That stand was historically used for Saturn V, The Space Shuttle, Delta IV, and the SLS rockets.

When I said that I didn’t want a standard 9-5 office job, I’m not sure a 9pm-5am photography job is exactly what I had in mind…

This show changed my life. "Life is to be worn gloriously, because till our last moment, the future is what we make it" This line changed my life. Star Trek is a reminder of how endless the possibilities of our lives truly is. I wouldn't be the man I am today without it.

Today, September 8, 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of Star Trek’s premiere on American network television. From the beginning, there was something special about this show. >> [more]

Did anyone happen to see a launch timeline for the Spectrum rocket from before launch? SECO felt very early based on similarly sized rockets.

Very random personal thought here but can I just say the current Roller Coaster War is absolutely incredible? Like don't get me wrong the era of building faster, bigger, and taller coasters was cool and we got some great rides, but my god has the recent wave of creative new rides been amazing

It was a beautiful morning for the launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope as it lifted off aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Reporting for Supercluster

There are a lot of things that easily disprove any kind of "Space Travel Is A Conspiracy" argument. However a very underrated one is that engineers are TERRIBLE at keeping secrets.

There’s a lot of things that I’d like to bring home with me from Europe Honestly though the top of the list is Voltron from EuropaPark because letting Mack Rides just keep building whatever they want is seemingly a valid strategy.

Wow. Just wow. Today’s Eclipse was absolutely stunning. I remember how incredible 2017 had been, but this was another level.

The color and vibrance of the eclipse as it was setting into smokey skies was unbelievable. I’m not sure I’ll ever experience one like this again.

I have so many more photos to edit and share with yall, but that’s going to have to wait as I now have 2 weeks of personal travel to indulge in. See everyone soon!
