The party willing to sell out trans people for zero votes may have no backbone to prosecute fascists? Quelle surprise.

Didn't really finish my day until 9pm. Have to be up early for work. Not even an hour of free time lately.

I dug into Anthropic's 240,000-word prospectus so you don't have to. The AI giant said data centers are likely to increase gas prices, it's not interested in nuclear or renewables, and it's looking to expand abroad in part due to U.S. data center backlash. subscriber.politicopro.com/newsletter/2...

When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as “headcanon.” When trans creators are loud and proud, people call it “obnoxious” and “cringe.” They just don’t want us to be represented in media at all. Because they don’t want us to exist at all.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

This is something I have to point out to astonished clients. It's no longer "give a little bandwidth, get a lot". It's now full on replication of your site, to train models, which power services, which are *not* giving you anything in return. Extractivist.

If the real priority was actually protecting girls from actual men who pose a risk to them in sports, it would make much more sense to advocate for banning male coaches and male doctors. And I’ve never, ever ever heard that suggestion, because that’s not really what this is about.

Samantha Brennan@samanthabrennan.bsky.social

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

I've poked around in Claude generated Drupal code recently and...yeah. 100% this.

Perhaps that's the mistake I made on Friday: Believing I belonged anywhere. You'd think I would have learned that lesson by now.

Love to exert pressure on a guy by giving him everything he wants, it always works out great.

Josh is a giant POS for this. But if you’re in Iowa and you’re trans or support trans rights, you should *absolutely* vote for him, and push others to as well - then pressure the *shit* out of him and the party after he wins. It’s ugly and gross, but it’s not complicated.

If you love this, you're gonna love all the business data exfiltration going on right now.

I wonder how many dems are paying consultants who just ask ChatGPT for a political strategy. And the stochastic parrot comes back with, "idk, transphobia?" because it *is* the most statistically linked token in their training data.

Remember LLMs are largely trained on public internet pages from 2018 on, the years of massive and purposeful attacks on trans rights. The majority of political discourse has been "culture war" content.

There is also not. One. AI. Company which isn't perfectly happy to work with the present fascist government. Their politics are very much aligned. There would be no institutional will to not be bigoted.

If "infosec people are not okay", that means that you have to account for the human element in your security analysis. You are not a consistent, trustworthy system, you are a sack of water and proteins. Infosec processes aim at reducing this effect. That's also AI companies attack surface.

AI companies have a profit motive to keep you exhausted, fearful, and demoralized, as it acts as a human DDoS against your health and emotional wellbeing. This encourages you to rely on them more and more to respond "at speed", fearful that the "exploits will get written anyways".

And yes, some of those are indeed and real vulns, they are a brief flash in the pan. AI companies are using the exact same human DDoS fascism employs to reduce dissent and then encourage adoption via capturing the managerial class whom hasn't before been affected by neoliberalism.

Truly just ghoulish behavior from the Democrats. And yall wonder why trans people are pessimistic about this gov ever helping us. They say they will include us but inclusion into what? They only accept us when we make them comfotable; it’s never about enabling us. open.substack.com/pub/erininth...

Apparently the most secure coding agent only outputs secure code....37% of the time. At best. "We'll use AI to test the vibe coded project!" [Entire room full of security professionals laugh] #bsidestc

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

I'm at a security conference and the speaker asked how many saw th PHP CVE exploited in practice. Not one hand raised. Not even me. The one that's been doing PHP for 27 years.

This is what I mean when I worry that LLMs and particularly LLM discovered vulnerabilities, are collectively cooking our brains about prioritizing CVEs. Massive panic and massive effort, but unlike y2k, we should still see mass attacks. We've already surrendered too much "because the LLM said so".

The worry I have isn't that LLMs are finding immense exploits. It's that we've already ceded the critical thinking skills to prioritize vulnerabilities in terms of what is actually exploitable in practice rather than magical sky thinking because the machine said so.
