Awwwww yeeaahh…

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

I’m working on a wee thread about hackers at the moment, and you guys?…it aint good. I hope I have it finished in time for it to matter, but I need a break. So, as I have done in the past, I would like to take you into yesterday’s neurology visit…

There is also a party who is owned by insurance companies. They represent fiduciary responsibilities not we the people. That new medical building is considered a loss for stock holders in a for profit healthcare company. As patients, we can deny them for a change. Vote. Vote. Vote. For each other.

📌 was about the word “clinic”. The new large healthcare system that sucked up my neurologist‘s practice spent over $150,000,000 to rebrand their name back to what it was prior to rebranding their name. Don’t tell me we can’t afford this.

We don’t have to be like this. We can make a choice. We can keep looking at our shoe laces, or we can decide to eliminate worry. We can choose to care for one another, as people, because no one is getting good news on the other side of the waiting room doors.

Not only do we get to choose, we get to do it soon. Right now, there is a party that wants to allocate dollars to healthcare and move to a single payer system. This relieves worries from sick people. The benefits will reach far beyond the costs. It’s our health. It’s national security.

People, the fact that for the most part, healthcare insurance is tied to employment, is a means of control. You might have to keep a job you hate, are being harassed at, or generally feel unsafe, just to be able to go to the doctor when you need cancer treatment, or you blew your fingers off July4th

When your visit is denied by your insurance company, which it will be, you now have to add dealing with an extortionately high bill, paper work and phone calls to your growing list of things to worry about.

One woman saw the show and I could see she became very concerned with whether or not her shoes were tied. 3 times. We’re all in the waiting room for something. Mine is just visible. But hers is hers. People get bad news on the other side of waiting room doors.

People in ”clinic” waiting rooms are worried about dinner, they’re worried whether or not the family members they left in the morning will still be there after this doctors appointment. People are worried about their own version of “Oh shit!”, and whether or not they can keep their job.

I was no longer in a neurologist’s office, I was in a “clinic“📌now and had to introduce/warn a new set of people. I have a rare movement disorder which causes an uppercut Mohammed Ali would be proud of (shout out to Parkinson’s patients, think about them when choosing charitable contributions)

This morning I thought about having business cards made to hand out to people in the waiting room. Something like “Congratulations! You’re one of the few people to have seen the show.” No one wants to be in the waiting room with me.

As time went on and I got more comfortable with the environment, things changed and I had to adjust. The elevator arrival bell was too loud. Next time do “x” to prepare. That kind of thing. Yesterday was my first trip to the new office. The smell of the carpet confirmed a new building. Adjust.

It never crossed my mind that there would be a new waiting room, new medical assistants, new nurses, a new check-in process. I’m trying to orient myself from a nausea inducing car ride, carpet, and card exchange. The old place just knew me. They knew my needs and they accommodated them.

For those reading who may not have read one of my Dr. visits, the only thing to really take away here is “no one is getting good news behind that door.” Be patient patients. Ok…so, in order for me to go anywhere, I have to be blindfolded, wear headphones, use my walker. It’s a shit show.

I’ll remind you I have a rare case of what is known as “Oh shit!” At least that is what every doctor says when they see me. I was familiar with my neurologists old office. I knew the steps to the curb, I knew where to hit the door opener with my elbow, how much time the door stayed open. All that.

My neurologist moved offices. As with most small, physician owned practices, they had to be consumed by a large healthcare organization if they wanted to continue being a neurologist in an area where their patients live.

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"
