In our latest Deco-stop episode, we talk with #frictionalgames Thomas Grip, lead designer on #SOMA, about the #deepsea themes in the game. Deep philosophical themes in an environment inspired by real #deepocean #technology. Join us in the Arc over at deepseapod.com

Bro' that snail is OP! The #scalyfootsnail dominates the board in the award-winning #Endeavor: #DeepSea. We catch up with the games creators #wellycon to talk about how the #deepocean and #research are represented in their #boardgame. Check it out in our latest episode.

#wellycon #boardgame con is on this weekend and I caught up with the creators of #EndevourDeepSea for @deepseapod.com. For the cons special edition card they wanted to showcase New Zealand marine science and ended up using our expedition. ...where do I put this on the impact reporting?

I know I give generative AI a hard time but it worries me how completely people have already made it part of their workflow when it's so cheerfully and confidently wrong.

That's EXACTLY what a giant sea spider would say...

Dr Andrew Mahon@andyantarctica.bsky.social

I hear a lot about people being scared or creeped out by the giant sea spiders....my normal response is a) they don't bite, and b) they are SLOW! Here's some proof....Colossendeis robusta and an Ammothea sp. walking in a tank on our research cruise in 2020 (NBP20-10). 🧪🐧🦑🌎🇦🇶🧬
