the way the user has to go back and forth with the bot to get something resembling desired output looks suspiciously like something you'd design if your target audience were gambling addicts

We are painting the walls and re-doing the flooring in our daughter’s room this weekend 💪 (Before picture, she wants the walls to be white 🥱)

One of my daughter’s commubity college professor “hides” false requirements within assignments in a white font to try and catch students pasting it into Chat GPT. I told my daughter I understand their intentions but they’re inviting problems and raising some serious questions by doing that.

What if a student uses an assistive reader? So if the professor sees something in a completed assignment that makes them believes the student used AI because they followed the “hidden” instructions, what grounds do they have to take action?

The accused student could reasonably argue other students didn’t actually follow the written requirements provided by the professor. This is something I’d expect from a middle school teacher, not a community college professor. They’re potentially making the actual assignment requirements ambiguous.

My daughter keeps track of assignments in OneNote and noticed it when she pasted it. What if she pasted it as plain text? The “false” requirements were written out and provided to students, only not visible unless highlighted. So are they false? What says those requirements don’t actually apply?

I found some Sega Amusement Center tokens in the washing machine that fell out from the pocket of the jeans I wore to PRGE. 🤓

This thing is exceptional for retro gaming… Right now Delta is the only emulator that supports the Duo aspect ratio, and unfortunately you can only run SNES games 1:1 afaik. It’ll look so nice filling the inner 4:3 screen… I’m sure Retroarch will be updated very shortly.

You have so many options with this thing… and the fact that both screens are 4:3 make it so much more suited for classic gaming both open and closed than a ~2:1 vertical phone AR.

I'm playing a new 2D Castlevania and 2D turn-based Final Fantasy game, and I'm pumped for my Ocarina of Time preorder. The year is 2026

Spotted another CRT at my local goodwill and the price was a reasonable $30. I had a nice chat with the person who bought it, telling them I’m relieved they aren’t wasting them anymore.

I was kinda bummed my copy of Final Fantasy Resonance delivers tomorrow until I remembered I haven’t completed the demo (which takes 3-5 hours?!) and the save carries over. Maybe I’ll just start a new save and treat it like a proper playthrough this time.

You’ll throw footballs at the heads of affluent tech bros and yuppies, as you traverse the 42 mile span from San Francisco to Levi Stadium in Santa Clara mining resources on the journey to craft GPU racks for your AI datacenter base

EA Sports has announced that it is working on a new open-world football game that the company calls "Project Gridiron," which seems to be separate from Madden and College Football. https://bit.ly/4z63a9U

Game 43, 2026: A Link to the Past It honestly feels like Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 were prototype experiments, and LttP is the "true" first Zelda game. It's in this game we get the Master Sword, more details on the Trifoce, and the start of this unending cycle of Link, Zelda, and Ganon. (1/n)

I tried making a title screen for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 look like the one from Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Adding this to the previous existing elements to further 3rd Strikeify Mortal Kombat. Thanks again to my bro @blondetanamobay.bsky.social for helping me animate this together.

the natural outcome of the calculus of "this technology lets us reduce costs" and "people hate this technology" is "use the technology and lie about it" and I promise you this is happening even where you wouldn't expect it to

We thought memory was scarce and the price of everything inflated because it was all being used in data centers but the reality is worse: Nvidia has coerced companies into ordering “$3 billion dollars worth of GPUs per month, indefinitely” regardless of whether they actually need or can use them.

Ed Zitron@edzitron.com

This means that the increased price of RAM and consumer electronics was a result of an artificial "supply chain crisis" created by Jensen Huang pushing NVIDIA's customers to take early delivery of GPUs. Jensen Huang is responsible for making life worse for everyone.
