When your answer to any issue is to point fingers at the other side politically, all you are really telling me is which media outlet you are consuming...

The reason there are so many AI companies isn't because they think their model will be the successful one. The reason most of these companies exist is so they can be bought out in the inevitable consolidation.

It is a sad observation, but people generally don't care about gov corruption when a majority of population is prosperous. So, if it seems like more people are concerned about corruption. it is not a good indication for the state your local economy.

It does not matter how much oil does or does not go through the strait of Hormuz, nor how it gets through. What does matter is how much it costs to get from one side to the other and that cost will always be inflated as long as there is a state of war there.

If your net worth is around $1 million, how long did it take you to achieve that? Most people talking about a "millionaire tax" are not talking about taxing people that have a million dollars, they are talking about people making $1 million or more in a single year.

When someone brings up the trans problem, my usual question to them is... How many people have you met in your lifetime so far, even just in passing? 100s, 1000s, 10000s, more? How many do you think were trans?

The amount of AI generated garbage isn't bad enough already so now they are actually marketing the AI tools to generate the garbage so more people can shovel it onto the internet. Because you could be an AI garbage generator too

I would put the story about Lindsey Graham being gay in the category of who really cares at this point. That story has been around for ages, and he still kept getting elected. He is dead now and can't get elected again so why should I care anymore?

The real problem for Vivek Ramaswamy should be in realizing that if the anti immigrant base of his own political party were given the opportunity to choose between electing him to public office or deporting him the majority probably chooses the latter

When the next generations reach retirement age the real crisis of housing affordability probably begins, because most retirement planning doesn't include paying for ever escalating home rental costs on low retirement incomes.

Politicians talk a lot about bringing back "factory jobs", thinking about the blue-collar workers in the 50s & 60s. But reality is that most of those jobs were the 1st ones replaced by automation, so those jobs mostly don't exist anymore and there is nothing to bring back.

Did outsourcing all the manufacturing to other countries make your life better because of all the cheaper goods & services? The AI companies are telling you the same story.

Contrary to what some seem to believe, continuity of government planning makes nuclear war the least effective way to achieve regime change. Current gov has the bunkers, while average citizens get vaporized so after the bombs gov comes back like roaches with nobody to oppose them

At this point the United Nations is largely a dying institution. Not because of anything it has or hasn't done, but because the generation that knows first-hand why it was created to begin with is gone...

Should a rival party gain majority in the US senate/house, the opening move shouldn't be impeachment. But should be in defending the powers of the to legislative branch itself to counter the rule by EO in the executive. Because restoring that balance is better long-term for USA

Far and away the biggest winner from US-Iran war has been Russia. Russia perhaps isn't so weak against Ukraine if super power USA could not dominate Iran either. US-Russian sanctions pretty much erased, and now even directly selling fuel to US. All big wins for Putin

Somewhere in the world right now is someone with despair in their heart, and though we may not know who, or where, nor how to help. If nothing else, we can take just a moment to feel hope for them. It is how charity should be, given without care, or even knowing the effect..

How bad is this job market? I have seen multiple employers that supposedly want some IT experience for $25/hr positions onsite in cities where a studio apt goes for $2K/month. Unless you are living in your parents' basement taking such a role would be nuts...

The proven system of standard time all year with no daylight time switch ever they use in Arizona should be everywhere. If you need more sunshine in the afternoon change your own damn schedule not everyone else's...

Let's be real, democrats getting a simple majority in house/senate does little to nothing to check Trump because he isn't using legislative power. A near supermajority would be required to effectively check power and the odds of that in any one election cycle are near impossible

GOP losing a simple majority in house and senate would not be a bad thing (might even be good) because Trump is not using legislative power now. A simple majority can't override veto or get a removal in an impeachment, so I think all that happens is a bunch of investigating...

No Iran cannot take out Los Angeles or San Deigo, because that would mean they already have nuclear weapons, and if that were true what was the point of starting this conflict again? But Iran (or Russia) should also understand the concept of MAD (why that attack is bad idea).

What is wrong with AI job screening? Applying for high experience technical role and getting asked to take a typing speed assessment as if it were a secretarial position...

Want to talk about extreme... The modern "religious liberty" argument seems to be that nobody with different beliefs has any right to exist. Because letting them exist amounts to condoning their beliefs, which is unacceptable.

So now they want to scare you into voting GOP in midterms by saying i immigration caravan is coming? WTF.. I mean if the current anti outsider ICE activity, warehouse storage, 3rd country deporting, etc. can't scare immigrants from heading to US nothing can. Seriously!?

It is probably going to be impossible to end the Iran war if both side want it to happen because they believe it will make the biblical end times actually happen...

If you are willing to give up freedom & democracy because you are afraid of some other people, then why were those ideas ever important to begin with?

What happens when you wake up the day after you get some pittance Trump dividend (not really going to happen) and realize you are still just as bad off economically as you were before you got it?

How bad do things have to be if a president suggesting they might give some of your tax money back as a one-time payment of some pittance amount actually gives you hope?

I do not need my news reporting to be a version of Kalshi, please stop making poll numbers be the majority of content. Please report on what is actually happening, not what you hope, or fear will happen in the future.

There may be 25 organizations building AI datacenters today, but we all know that a dozen years or so from now there will only be a small few successful ones left. So, most of this AI site garbage being built will be for nothing. They will destroy places today, for what?

There are tech problems where a specific answer is the correct one 99% of the time (this is the info experienced engineers already know), and you used to be able find the 1% answer by searching the internet. But AI math has now made the 99% answer the only one you can find.

If gov tax codes acted logically, when a corporation closes a factory and/or has a mass layoff of workers their tax liability should go up because the gov loses the revenue from the workers that no longer have an income and the factories that no longer exist.

One conceptual issue with polling is that when polls are telling you that you are on the losing side by a big margin, most likely you don't change your vote. Instead you just stop admitting to the pollsters that you are backing the side they say will lose...

Unfortunately, starting the war with Iran let that economic chaos genie out of the bottle. Simply voting in the US legislative branch to end the conflict now cannot put that mess back in its container...

Having people prove citizenship at the voting booth itself, is conceptually akin to checking to see if you have health insurance when you are already in the operating room.

If you want to say that your country is the greatest, first define what a great country is.. The place where the richest few have the most money and the poorest live in places that don't even have clean water would not be in my definition.

We need to start breaking up these mega combined media companies and stop allowing more giant mergers. They are not good for consumers, and rapidly becoming detrimental for democracy in general.

Even the greatest leaders the world has ever known were not universally loved by everyone. If your leader can't take any criticism, they are probably among the worst that will ever be known.

Patriotism isn't hugging the flag or sticking the name of your country on everything. It is championing the values and ideals your country is supposed to believe in. You are not a patriot if you are suppressing the founding principles of your own country.
