Just opened a book, and found this inside!

This month’s @thedwshow.net is diving into the BBC Past Doctor Adventure “Illegal Alien!” The Cybermen are back! For the first time the 7th Doctor is a “former” Doctor! Have a listen and see what we made of it!

The poll results are counted, and our next @thedwshow.net Gin & TARDIS ep will be The Romans! But in the meantime, you can enjoy our latest ep on Paradise Towers!

Hey @thedwshow.net, I found myself with a quiet evening… Never give up! Never surrender!

We've released our @thedwshow.net synopsis of Illegal Alien, ahead of our discussion about the book out on Sunday! It even includes me doing by best cyber-impression!

Avery Brooks is of course amazing in Far Beyond the Stars, but shout out to Rene Auberjonois for his portrayal of a man who *knows* what is doing is wrong, but feels he can't stop it, and Cirroc Lofton who has to bring home the core message. Amazing.

8) An iconic book (and absolutely deserving of the term), the NAs decide to take a toxic Doctor and give him some romantic therapy with amazing results... @toohot4tv.bsky.social @davidkitchen.bsky.social podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/h...

Hands up if you didn't read ILLEGAL ALIEN in time for this weekend's Doctor Who Show? Hands up if you have read the novel, but it was decades ago? In either case, @davidkitchen.bsky.social and I have you covered. A 30m synopsis is on our website and podcast feed now! thedwshow.net/2026/10/21/i...

It's sad that I can only once ever see this moment for the first time, genuinely not knowing what the hell was going to happen now! www.youtube.com/watch?v=nufI...

And we're done! Out on Sunday, with our plot synopsis for those wanting one out a little earlier!

We're going to finish the @thedwshow.net Gin & TARDIS year with a story we're fond of, that we think doesn't get enough attention! Please vote for which of our nominees you think will make the most interesting conversation! strawpoll.com/1MnwkMkGkn7

Final prep before recording the October edition of @thedwshow.net….

The latest @thedwshow.net Gin & TARDIS ep is out, and we've watched Paradise Towers! And we had some thoughts to discuss afterwards...! Let us know what you think!

On @thedwshow.net's Gin & TARDIS ep we watch Paradise Towers, & end up asking ourselves how are Paradise Towers & Remembrace of the Daleks only 2 stores apart? & how did the same guy direct Paradise Towers & Curse of Fenric? & what's that say about the McCoy era?! What do you think!?

Well, that was a quite bizarre experience.

@flightthroughentirety.com 500 Yr Diary asks what happens when a great adventure writer gets script edited by witty Script Editor, the script is delivered by a great cast, & David Maloney is involved. Terry Nation getting the praise he deserves, & I'm 100% here for it!

I'm really enjoying the @toohot4tv.bsky.social eps on Torchwood, discovering spin off media I never thought possible! But mostly, it's confirming that - Children of Earth aside - I'm really quite indifferent to Torchwood.

Well, that was a quite bizarre experience.

It’s happening, @thedwshow.net….

We’re getting ready to watch Paradise Towers over a few G&Ts, and then chat about it for @thedwshow.net’s next Gin & TARDIS episode! What do you reckon we’ll make of it??

And we're done... We certainly had some thoughts....

This month's List Makers from @thedwshow.net is Top 5 Stories featuring Religion! And it ends with a quite surprising "skew"... As always, let us know what you think!

Don't worry @futureboy.bsky.social you're not the only one to read the "my companion" relationship that way! Which makes the scenes where Marco admits he betrayed Guilliano under torture even more powerful... @pulltoopen.bsky.social

As a lad, I thought the Supreme Council Dalek was just the coolest thing… and the way he sweeps in to exterminate the section leader for failing to eliminate the Thals is great!

By my reckoning, the Dr returning Jo to Earth at the end of Planet of the Daleks is the first time he properly steers the TARDIS without a conceit (stolen part from the Monk, the Time Lords did it, following the Master etc). It’s actually a big change for the show.

We finally went there! #DoctorWho stories featuring religion is this month's LIST MAKERS topic! thedwshow.net/2026/10/11/t...

One of those cliffhangers that still sits in the memory from when I was a boy! “10,000” is the perfect big number as well… It’d be 100 million today, which is meaningless. Bernard Horsfall needs to learn how to do cliffhanger acting, though!

Some books arrived.
