Painfully average white boy lefty who likes video games and anime, and maybe some other things too. I don’t really care, but others do, so uh he/him and oh god I’m 29 why.

Think the thing that really bothers me with AI proliferation is how it fucks with accountability. Like you have a task, person fucks up that task, they’re accountable. Easy-peasy, do better next time. Offload that task to AI and it fucks up, now accountability is unclear.

Easy to say the person who used the AI is accountable, but the whole point is offloading the task. They didn’t do anything except make an AI do it, and they’re not expected to do anything more than that. So the AI provider is at fault? Ok, who and at what level, and for what issues?

If the walls weren’t so damn sticky in Belmont’s Curse, then I think my platforming-inept self would enjoy the game a whole lot more. Like dude, I’m holding away and down to try and progress the time-sensitive platforming section, stop clinging to the damn wall!

People who know I play Clone Hero will sometimes ask why I don’t play Fortnite Festival, and being polite in that situation is always a struggle.

Do people who think that games are inherently/entirely subjective believe developers make no meaningful decisions when designing games? Like there’s zero thought process and intent behind the mechanics and systems, just pure vibes?

I think some people mistake whether or not they personally like a game, regardless of popularity and how well-designed it might be, for subjectivity across the board because subjective experiences are inherently personal.

Now that I’ve thought about it more, I feel like the whole “Medusa Heads don’t deal contact damage” anger with Belmont’s Curse misses the point that they only served as a threat relative to old Castlevania movement and combat.

Like the original games will put you on a moving platform above a death pit, then align an enemy exactly with that platform where you can’t strike it, but also the platform isn’t moving fast enough to keep up if you jump forward (it’s not possible to adjust movement mid-jump).

Oh cool Belmont’s Curse just crashed on Steam Deck and I lost about all my Clocktower progress. You’d think the guys developing this who’ve done Steam Deck compatibility before would have got it right, but I guess not (the game also doesn’t even fit the screen properly ever).

Really wish Belmont’s Curse had like, a Ratchet and Clank style quick swap menu for the weapons and Arcana to reduce the layers of menus needed to swap between stuff.

I was confused why I saw people complaining about the weapons in Belmont’s Curse dealing the same damage even though the game has damage numbers proving otherwise. Then I realized they were only looking at the ATK value to distinguish between weapon tiers instead of paying attention.

I feel like if I was making a game and got to the settings menu, and the options I was putting there made me feel the need to put a “messing with this will fuck the gameplay balance and negatively impact the experience” disclaimer, then I simply wouldn’t leave those options in the settings menu.

The way chuds completely dominate most corners of the internet, and are allowed to kinda do whatever is so exhausting. The normies just rally around them, no matter how heinously they behave, because calling them out is somehow seen as more problematic than anything the chuds do.

It's a key part of conservative ideology: "I have no obligations to you and I can treat you however I like, but you are required to love me."

The ai posters my apartment building kept putting up were getting torn down so often that they gave up and started using clipart instead

I’m out of the loop with Fire Emblem, what’s Alucard doing there? (you see the joke is that a popular character from the new game looks a lot like Alucard from hit series Castlevania, you may now commence laughter).

Watching slopcoded recomps and whatnot get promoted and basically everyone else outside this site just slurp it up uncritically (even though they’re shit) is just like, what are we even doing anymore

Ninja Gaiden Black getting hit by a cuckcoded recomp hurts my soul. I imagine the Ninja Gaiden 2 recomp that was supposedly in development prior to the GenAI wave will also fall victim.

I’ve played the DMC games so much across so many different systems over the years that I only occasionally go back to them anymore, but it’s funny that I’m forced to play these games outside Steam just to maintain this happy accident.

the amount of damage that AI has done to open source communities by people who care only about the results and not the quality or work that goes into them is immeasurable

I’m not trying to defend Reddit or Reddit users right now, but I catch a heavy whiff of insecurity anytime I see people be like “wow that’s such a Reddit argument” or some other weak, broad strokes dismissal that just cites “Reddit” as if that means anything. It’s just lazy.

There’s plenty to dislike about Reddit and several other sites, but like, I don’t know, if the idea is that Redditors say dumb things sometimes, then congratulations! You’re like a Redditor now for saying something dumb. I just wish people would actually say what they mean, and mean what they say.

Can’t tell if it’s just me being bad at platformers or if Sonic Mania’s Encore Mode just kinda blows. Like I don’t remember the stages feeling so hostile, and the Special Stages are actually just abysmal dogshit.

For anyone who doesn’t know, that’s the guy who does the vocals for Bury the Light, Vergil’s theme song, among other really cool tracks.

I feel like I’m the only person in the world whose Steam has been running like shit lately. I have to restart it like every other day just to do basic things like see my wishlist of downloads.

replacing an entire face button for multiple equipped items for a fucking manual jump button for a game that was designed without a manual jump button and was fine for it for 30 years to force the player to use their bad inventory system they've been using since 2017 makes me seem like a psychopath

Remember kids, republicans and conservatives value hypocrisy as a virtue. There’s no boundary they won’t cross while projecting their actions onto the opposition for nothing and pretending they’ve gone too far.

Forgot it was supposed to rain like crazy today and wore my crocs to work, so now I get to walk through a flooded lot to my car in an hour – in crocs.
