The past decade of the left has been overwhelmingly dedicated to the proposition that a better world can be brought about through electoral politics and it has been an absolute disaster. No one is coming to save us, if you want to see nazis hang you have to do it yourself

Not as if previous COD games are notably better but the base conceit in MW4 is so comically, absurdly racist (not to mention anticommunist, chauvinist, fascist) it is honestly kind of blowing me away. Not so much "touching" offensive topics but wholeheartedly embracing them. Yikes!

HAN SOLO: Hell, I never would have flown a spaceship if it wasn't for the daring exploits of Ben Quadinaros, famed podracer... He inspired all of us kids back on Corellia. LEIA (NODDING): Yes, I also know and love Ben Quadinaros. The boy, Han... let's name the boy after him

Does anyone have reading recommendations on Soviet circuses of the early 1900s? Genuine question. Doing some exploratory research

Yesterday's news about Jacob Geller broke my heart, so much that I couldn't stop dwelling on it all day. In an effort to make sense of this horrific news and my admittedly complicated feelings about it, here is my article on the Jacob Geller situation: epiloguegaming.com/what-do-we-d...

what do you want to happen and how does that action move the world closer to being the world that you want.

The CPC maintains what they call the "commanding heights of the economy" as a way to harness the power of capitalist development. In essence, this is a term for CPC control of investment lending and capital direction. This is why things are built in China and not built in the United States.

When the economy is in control of the capitalist bourgeoisie, it will serve the capitalist bourgeoisie and their goals of profit and extraction. When the economy is in control of a communist party, it will serve the masses.

one of my favorite writings from Josef Stalin, in "The Foundations of Leninism" (1924) about 'the National question', a core debate at the time. Stalin (born in Georgia) was understandably a huge proponent of Soviet support for anti-imperialist internationalism. www.marxists.org/reference/ar...

Not sure why everyone is talking about Stalin but going to assume that it is because we all agree he was great

it's the 50th anniversary of Mao Zedong's death. Here's one of my favorite writings of his, from 1968, where Mao speaks about American racism and how the struggle of Black people in America is linked to the greater class struggle under capitalism. www.marxists.org/reference/ar...

I think a lot of people #onhere would be happier if they accepted that this website is not, at least currently, a hub of influential political discourse, and probably won't ever be before it dies of LLM rot
