I'm attempting to balance rest and load to kick the ITB Friction Syndrome that has curtailed my running. It's a delicate balancing act.

Top tip: don't let the physio apply tape without shaving your legs first. Had my knee strapped to help with ITB friction syndrome and it was pretty painful removing it from the stretchy and hairy skin around my knee! 🥹

Look at me, opening pull requests for fun against personal projects to chase the satisfaction I no longer get from the day job :/

I am struggling to use DuckDuckGo these days. Many search queries end up returning pages full of LLM-generated single-serving spam sites that promptly request sharing your data with their 1000+ partners who care about your privacy.

It’s 1998 and the STARS team are hiding out in a mansion. They’ve seen colleagues turn into zombies and have almost been killed by intricate traps. Rebecca is concerned about her interpretation of Moonlight Sonata and insists Chris give her time to practice before they can continue their escape.

Successfully banjaxed my 20-post Astro build: each time I build it on Netlify Node runs out of memory.

I rediscovered (and recharged) my old 2016 MacBook Pro, running Monterey (12.7.4). Presume it’s fairly easy to wave goodbye and install a #Linux distro on the thing?

Only two years since I last picked up my Baldurs Gate 3 save, I’m sure I’ll recall everything that was going on and not get overwhelmed at it all…

Bluesky friends, very sadly (for me) I need to sell my beloved Wilma. She’s a 1988 T25 VW Campervan, complete with checkerboard floor and fold out bed, recently serviced and MOT’d. If you or anyone you know is interested please let me know - would love her to go to someone nice 🧡

Putting it out there: these repeated hot spells suck sweaty feet. This one’s going to drag on for another 10 days. 🤮

I’m not sure what’s more frustrating: that IT at my job have given me an underpowered laptop for my role, or that inspecting a single dropdown component in the Storybook UI causes the browser tab to become unresponsive.

Logged into Dribbble for first time in a decade(?!) because they sent me a cheeky email promoting their "exclusive PUBG Mobile Playoff." and the unsubscribe link didn't work. Bye bye Dribbble.

I need to raise an IT ticket to get the latest version of Figma. Figma updates at regular intervals. The process insists upon itself.

Me with my camera off: Eloquent, measured, delivers a clear message. Me with my camera on: Might as well be speaking in tongues.

That was a week… and it was only four days. 😮‍💨 I was looking forward to closing the laptop and playing 007 First Light, only to discover that after its initial 56GB download it wanted to perform a 45GB update. Modern gaming, eh?

if Amberspire gets nine more positive reviews it will firmly be in the 'very positive' category, which we'd really appreciate!

🌖 Amberspire is OUT NOW! 🌇 A dice driven science fantasy city builder. Grow your city atop a mausoleum moon, interact with strange weather and ecology, gain influence to make deals with powerful off-world factions, experience the history of a future city. PC, Mac, Steam Deck s.team/a/3350750

Disappointed to see a company I consulted for has decided to implement an accessibility overlay. That wasn't the takeaway!

Happy 23rd Birthday CSS Zen Garden! In May 2003 the Canadian web designer Dave Shea launched a community gallery of websites called CSS Zen Garden. #WebDesignHistory

It's a Bank Holiday Monday and I've just heard the Antiques Roadshow theme tune: iPlayer is playing an episode presented by Michael Aspel. The heebie jeebies have begun.

Come on folks: don’t add me to your new mailing list without asking and not expect to get marked as spam. Maybe I bought something from you five years ago. So what?

DuckDuckGo search has become noticeably poorer recently: for the majority of my search queries (e.g. "is le creuset dishwasher safe") the top results are often generic LLM-written spam sites. I spend too long telling DDG to "block this site from all results".

Windows 11 has been out for 4 years and its "Night Light" and dark mode features are still buggy. I love being flashbanged when I wake the computer in the evening.

No Microsoft, I'm not going to perform age verification for my Xbox account. Given I've had it for some 15 years, and I think you had to be at least 13 to register, feel free to do the maths. Missing out on messaging, chat, and game invites isn't a big deal.

I tried to let a brand know about some accessibility issues I discovered on their website, and the email address listed in their accessibility statement rejects emails. Top work.
