New homelab rack fitted out. More room for kit to breathe and pretty tidy, all things considered! Highly recommend the mini rack from DeskPi. Last image was the “pre-rackening”. Left some space at the top for my displays I’ll be putting together soon.

Will be racking up my home lab in the coming week and playing around with idea of displaying metrics via an ESP32. I love how I give a brief idea to Claude and it gives me a pretty wiring diagram. Time will tell if it works or not….

This evening I will be moving services from one Hetzner to another, then encrypting the drives. Pain that Hetzner don't make this easy. Bleh

Spent far too long this evening making my ideal Ghostty setup on mac. I am now finally happy. Custom colour pallete, trying to aim for a cyberpunk/ retrowave style. Spawns a new Pokemon in each new terminal session.

Nice day to take the little one out for a walk whilst I brainstorm what to abuse Claude with this evening.

Building this pet app is going well so far. Building for yourself is what we should be doing. I'm implementing features I've had to use previously in various different apps.

My AI flow right now; - ChatGPT to converse with. Bounce ideas back and fourth. - OpenCode and Github Copilot to generate the plan using Opus 4.5. - OpenCode and GH CP Sonnet to implement. It works for me so far, but bound to better workflows out there.

Was weird not being able to reach 1800Mbps on the new connection following an upgrade. After a quick chat with YouFibre, they managed to resolve it. Amazing stuff.

And we’re done. Migrated the home network to the new kit. Was a bit fiddly migrating the old standalone UniFi/ Ubiquiti Controller to this, but we got there in the end.

2 weeks paternity leave in the UK truly is a joke. Not enough time to get into some routine or spend bonding with your newborn. Never mind the fact that your partner hasn’t had enough time to get used to the big changes, body recovery and more.

Momma in bed and baby had a hard time settling, so staying downstairs with her for a few hours before taking her upstairs. Perfect time to do some article writing on Reverse Proxies.

Baby is outters snd the new Raspberry Pi mag landed on my doorstep yesterday. Time to get stuck in and find more things I can’t afford! :)
