Any future for the internet as a place where human beings communicate and share information is basically going to have to be some kind of walled garden

Group chats seem safe so far. In that, if someone started dumping chatbot output into a group chat, you’d just kick them. There’s some kind of reputational safety there. Will we need to be vouched for by confirmed real humans in order to enter human spaces?

so many times now, i've been struggling to figure out a character, and then a single funny drawing of them basically solves them for example, selene's "neutral" and "squint" faces turned out to be like... the entire tone of sunshine heavy industries

"create scenarios that would make selene oscillate between these two faces" is like... yeah i can definitely do that.

society is expected to contend with all those harmful uses for, what upside exactly? i can't think of a single purpose for image / video diffusion that is even slightly net positive

i actually think media about powerscaling is kind of fun... it just needs to... have an ending. writing a story about a scary godlike villain and then being told to write 80 hours of filler where they get in fistfights with the protags sounds like creative hell
