We live in an extraordinarily privileged political system that lets us vote our conscience and not have to choose between one of two parties, both of whom would seem actively to be engaging with the mechanisms of our oppression. I vote left because left politics seem to be the most human oriented.

Wow. Someone blocked me for asking, on their post about Irish stuff and "colonialism bad", that they not call the Irish Celts, because we're not. We're speakers of a Celtic language. The term Celt is a result of colonialism. It's not rooted in actual anthropology, archaeology or history.

Can I please ask that people stop rooting their criticism of the Orange Order in concepts of indigenousness. I don't think it adds any moral value to the argument and it opens some ethically questionable doors best avoided. Their philosophy, however, is rooted in ethnic cleansing.

Whether or not their ancestors are inheritors of the ethnic cleansing is irrelevant. The ideology is rooted in that historical event. That's what they identify with. That's what they celebrate. That's what they march for. Or the oppression in more recent years. Criticise that. It's reprehensible.

I can only imagine the go-ahead to march through Drumcree was an intentional, malicious attempt to reignite sectarian violence in The North.

We have to use Python for at least two modules this semester. One of the AI modules, and music programming (CS322). CS322 relies on a minor revision ago. There are breaking changes between minor revisions of Python. This is reason number 3 that I loathe Python. Minor changes should not be breaking.
