I've been looking for a small Blender project to help learn it better. As I've been looping Maphra 's music the last month this is what I wound up with. It's still an early work in progress (gotta fix up the topology, figure out a pose, different outfit options, actual materials and lights, etc).

I started reading Age of Apocalypse for the first time, and already I find myself wishing newer comics made heavier use of narration boxes the same way older comics did. These descriptive details always made moments like this more epic, gave us more lore, and generally just more story to read.

My haul from this year's #eastcoastcomicexpo Some are titles that I needed in order to finish a collection or to fill out the arcs of random issues I owned as a kid, while others like Tomb of Dracula just caught my interest (I've been meaning to dabble in some horror comics)

Hot hot hot! ExNihina's Creature Art streams are always a fun and entertaining time as they take wild and random prompts from the chat and still manages to turn out something awesome in short order.

On this night 10 years ago I DM'd my first D&D campaign (The Lost Mines of Phandelver Starter Set). It was such a great little adventure, I'd love to do it again sometime (maybe to test the updated rules)

My 2025 goals: Wake up earlier Get into better shape Learn to sculpt in Blender (& do it more) Finish model kits Join the 501st & Rebel Legion Create dioramas for toy photography 3d Print Ghostbuster Wrist Thrower, F-11D, more resin figures Upgrade PC Get sewing machine working, learn to sew

I gotta say, 2024 had some incredible tv! Reacher, Wrestlemania 40, X-Men 97, Invincible, The Boys, Batman: Caped Crusader, Rings of Power, House of the Dragon, Agatha All Along, What We Do In The Shadows, Arcane, Fallout, Secret Level, The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew... I hope 2025 can keep up

I rarely buy single issue #comicbooks (no longer living near a store so I do TPBs) and I've never bought a slabbed one before, but when I heard Marvel was bringing NYX back and saw this sweet cover of Laura from Jeehyung Lee, I just had to have it

I'm starting Oct with perhaps my favorite #horrorfilm, Night of the Living Dead (1990). IMO this film took the formula of the original and improved it in every single way. The zombies are far more horrific & terrifying, Barbara kicks ass, and I love the change made to the ending with Ben and Harry.

It also sells exactly how the survivors author their own demise, the noise of their arguing and hammering being what attracts so many undead to them. And of course, I love how this story always evokes thought exercises of what the characters did wrong, what I would have done in their shoes, etc.

🎃 Darkness falls across the land... I start every October with Thriller, which contains some of my favorite #horror aesthetics to this day. The zombie sequence in particular scared me enough a kid to haunt me for a few years, so kudos to the art department (Rick Baker / etc) for nailing the vibe.

This week's list of Horror Movies has been the Friday the 13th series (of course). I started the series a little early so that I could get to Part 6: Jason Lives by today as the undead revenant Jason Voorhees has always been my favorite incarnation of the character & my go-to mental image of him.

Tonight's horror movie was Night of the Living Dead (1968), which is a yearly watch for me (well the 1990 version is, I'll still save that one for October). I decided to bump this version up early this year as I just finished the novel and wanted to view it while it was still fresh on my mind.

I'll add that the novel holds mostly true to the screenplay but seems to add a slightly new ending to the classic (and unfortunately it is the type of change I found makes the notorious ending less tragic). And as always, Harry can keep the basement IMO; I would have been looking for the attic

Tonight's horror film (1990's Arachnophobia) is one I haven't seen in quite a while, and is certainly responsible for some early childhood fears that can still occasionally make me shiver whenever doing something mundane like reaching my hand under a lampshade...

X-Men '97 was sooo good! Like... god damn. It had me just as hyped as I was 30 years ago. The level of story telling present, the allegories I'm now old enough to understand, the homage to the original, the teamwork, seeing Scott finally displayed as the badass he is... I need more already.

I'm finally getting around to watching The X-Files for the 1st time. I was expecting there to be a small level of culture shock since S1 is more than 30yrs old, but this ep is about the dangers of AI and has quips about an elevator being "politically correct" for having basic accessibility features

You are up to date.
