People will see a fictional culture that is obviously intended to be an exaggerated reflection of reality to make a point about real life issues and say it’s bad world building because it wasn’t invented from the ground up into a completely alien and unrelatable mess that has nothing to say.

Ngl it is kinda distopian the way big name game and animation studios are going extinct but also theres something a little hopeful the way indie companies and projects are actually flourishing and taking over. These mediums are returning back into the hands of the people who love art.

It really fucking sucks that people are losing stable jobs over it tho. Like that is the major downside. Bc indie just doesnt have the same resources to provide the same kind of job security for as many people.
